I fail to see how sharing the bed with an axe murderer gives anyone security.

Palestinians do not want peace. There is no pressure on Palestinians to accept peace. There is every incentive, foreign aid and such, for them to not want peace.
The only reason the dog-in-the-manger Palisimians (spelling intentional) care about Jerusalem is because it’s holy to Jews.
The Vatican is using the false-a-stinians to get their foot in the door for what they have always coveted.
Israel should not confuse the nice Christians that come to Israel with ROME . Christians haven't changed , they never persecuted Jews . And the Jesuits which the pope is one haven't changed , they were formed to destroy those nice Christians and would think of doing nothing different to the Jews and that includes using the false-a-stinians to do it.
The Vatican (Rome) has always wanted to steal Jerusalem and plenty of Jews have died in the past because of their covetousness of this city which does not belong to them.
It is a halfway idea for Israel to surrender its sovereignty over Jerusalem (or as Jews describe it in their liturgy, “Jerusalem the holy city”) to Christian interlopers regardless of their denomination.

Ie, the Vatican wants Jerusalem taken from Israel and internationalized. After all, the church is the “new Israel.”
