CNN's Athena Jones investigates if Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is eligible to run for president. CNN says the "natural-born citizen" question is dogging Cruz. For the record, CNN said every constitutional law expert they interviewed for said Cruz is a natural-born citizen and eligible to be president.

It is impossib;e for Ted Cruz to be a natural born citizen, because he was born in Canada with a claim to Canadian citizenship and his father was a Cuban citizen right up to 2005. Consequently, Ted Cruz was born with a claim to three citizenships, only one of which was the adoption of the place of his mother’s citizenship. A natural born citizen cannot adopt a citizenship, because a natural born citizenship is is the one and only citizenship available to the child at birth. If Ted Cruz had been born in the United States with parents who were both U.S. citizens, no other sovereign state could claim him as a citizen, and he could claim no foreign citizenship without adopting the citizenship by using a lawful act of man. A natural born citizenship exists by the inherent Nature of there being only one possible citizenship arising from the nature of the birth being within the one sovereign society from which the birth originated. The claims of others like CNN that you can be a natural born citizen even though you were born with citizenship in more than one sovereign state is simply ludicrous and blatantly wrong.
And, the investigation (by the State Run Media) into whether or not Bowbama was/is eligible is where?
Such sentiments illustrate just as great a disregard and contempt for the Constitution and the rule of law as that demonstrated by the Democrats, the RINOs, the Communists, and anyone else who bends and twists the law to to to contradict its meaning in letters and in spirit. It is just such disrespect for the Constitution and the law which has brought this Republic into the current sad state of affairs we see today.
No, you have it all backwards. he is not a natural born citizen because he was born with claims to Cuban, Canadian, and U.S. citizenships, whereas a natural born citizen can by definition be born with one and only one claim to citizenship.
He will get my vote and I will do MY level best to make sure everyone knows he is eligible.
Federal law says that people born outside the U.S. to a parent or parents who are citizens and who have lived in the country are considered citizens at birth.
Cruz is eligible. His mother is American, his father became an American citizen before Cruz was born. Cruz has lived in the US since he was 4 yrs old and would bet any court would give him the well deserved green light to run.
How difficult would it be for the Supreme Court to issue a definitive ruling on exactly what constitutes a Natural-Born Citizen.
The Framers relied on the definition from Vatel’s Law of Nations and that is exactly what the Supremes should use.
Born on U.S. soil to parents who are BOTH U.S. citizens. Now just say it, please!

- Ted Cruz is not a clownboy

his father became an American citizen before Cruz was born.
CNN didn't make the claim; rather it was the conclusion of the immigration lawyers they consulted.
CNN reported the purported claims of attoneys. We all know just how far you can trust these lawyers.
That’s why I mentioned they were attorneys.. people can draw from that as they want. But, if he does attempt to run for President, attorneys and judges will indeed be the ones reviewing his eligibility.
FYI...
This will be many, many posts about this here on FR. (There are two in Breaking News right now.) And this will be endlessly debated to the point of distraction.
I’ll not participate as the matter is already settled. nobama set the standard. There’s no reason to talk about Cruz at all. He’s eligible, based on the precedent set by nobama. End of discussion.
He will get my vote and I will do MY level best to make sure everyone knows he is eligible.
Then you deserve to forfeit your right to vote, the right to serve in public office of any trust or profit, and forfeit government benefits.
Federal law says that people born outside the U.S. to a parent or parents who are citizens and who have lived in the country are considered citizens at birth.
Your statement proves Ted Cruz is not a natural born citizen. A citizenship conferred by a law is a a citizenship conferred by an act of man, in other words, an unnatural born citizenship. By contrast, a natural born citizenship is conferred by Nature and the natural or inherent circumstance of being born with one and only one citizenship that requires no manmade law to exist. This is why a natural born citizen is not defined by a statute of law. A birthright made by manmade law is an artifice of man and is thereby an unnatural act versus the birthright that exists by the inherent Nature or natural circumstances of the birthright. The moment the birthright is conferred by law, you know it is by definition unnatural and not a natural born birthright.
In 14th Century law only a natural born person could inheirt English properties. This put many English or Norman knights under the King’s command in the King’s French domains at a disadvantage by making it very difficult to inherit their father’s English property rights. To solve the problem, English law was changed to treat the sons of Englishmen as if they were born in England for the purposes of inheritance. So, by the act of a manmade law, these English heirs in France were granted the privileges of natural born Englishmen in England, even though the heirs were not natural born Englishmen. They were Englishmen by an unnatural act of law and not by natural circumstances of a birth in England to two English parents. Further changes in English and the laws of other sovereign nations further distinguished the difference of birthrights arising from datum or birthrights given by grants of from acts of law versus the natural rights a person is inherently born with in the absence of any unnatural and manmade laws.
Cruz is eligible. His mother is American,
The U.S. Citizenship of the mother of Ted Cruz made it possible for Ted Cruz and his parents to claim U.S. Citizenship for Ted Cruz only because an unnatural manmade act of law granted the right at birth. If not for the existence of this unnatural manmade act of law, Ted Cruz and his parents would have had no right to claim any form of U.S. Citizenship for Ted Cruz at his birth or after his birth. If Ted Cruz were a natural born U.S. Citizen, it would not be possible for the absence of the law to result in his not being a U.S. Citizen at birth. A natural born citizen has U.S. Citizenship without any grant of authority by unnatural manmade law. No law whatsoever is required to be a natural born citizen, because it is inherent in the circumstances of your coming into existence. It is just like no law is required to revognize you are a human being. You are a human being by virtue of the inherent natural or natural born circumstances of your existence. The moment an unnatural manmade law is required to confer the status of being a human being upon you to differentiate you from a jackass, an elephant, or a fig tree; you are no longer a natural born human being. You are instead an unnatural human being by Act of Congress or whomever.
his father became an American citizen before Cruz was born.
Given the fact Rafael Cruz naturalized as a U.S. Citizen in 2005, you have obviously made a false statement to produce a false conclusion.
Cruz has lived in the US since he was 4 yrs old and would bet any court would give him the well deserved green light to run.
Just like the court/s that concluded Obamacare is not a Federal tax administered by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service tax collectors armed with AR-15 rifles. All of which puts your judgement and credibility at about the same level as theirs.
And they wouldn't be doing this if not for the birther campaign against Obama. They won't have to directly question Cruz's eligibility. All they will do is repeat the claims made against Obama and direct them towards Cruz.
Which is exactly why it is up to voters like us and Ted Cruz to stop this contempt for the rule of law in its tracks right now. If Ted Cruz is a trustworthy man, he should be the first person to recognize his own responsibility to give effect to the Constitution and rule of law by unmistakably quashing any notions he would disregard the natural born citizen clause and its disqualification of him for that public office. If he cannot honor such a simple provision of the Constitution, why should anyone trust him to protect the rest of the Constitution and more importantly, the rule of law overall?
“Theres no reason to talk about Cruz at all. Hes eligible, based on the precedent set by nobama. End of discussion.”
That is a false conclusion. The Constitution does not permit the amending of the Constitution by precedent court decisions, faulty or correct.
Ted Cruz is an American citizen, but he is no a natural born U.S. citizen as required by the Constitution for eliginility.
I get a kick out of those who seem to think that somebody reviews candidates’ eligibility—the FBI, the CIA, the Supreme Court, etc.
What we have learned from the controversy over Soetoro’s eligibility is that NOBODY has any legal rôle to play in this. It is up to the ELECTORATE and no one else.
I will be concerned about Cruz’s eligibility when Indonesian citizen Soetoro is jailed for usurpation, fraudulently collecting a federal salary, for forgery, etc.
