Embattled mayor responds to recall effort
DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO — Mayor Bob Filner said he's committed to moving San Diego forward and never references the ongoing sexual harassment scandal in his formal response to the effort to recall him from office.
Filner, who has been under siege for the past month amid allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior, provided the written response late Monday as was his right under the city's recall rules. Now recall proponents must publish it before they can begin collecting signatures for his ouster on Sunday.

Filthy Filner was in congress for 20 years. He’s only been mayor of San Diego for 8 months. His perverted behavior did not begin when he became mayor. He was just as much the pervert while in congress but his supporters didn’t care because they wanted him to vote the way he did.

I bet that he does not resign. I have ambivalent feelings about the possibility of him resigning. On one hand I hate his guts. On the other hand I like to see his ugly mug as the face of the phony San Diego Democrats who put him in office. He is San Diego’s first Democrat mayor in 20 years. The other one, Maureen O’Connor, recently pleaded guilty to stealing about $200 million and losing it gambling. If Filner goes the Democrats want to put some other commie rat in his place to “move forward with the progressive agenda.” The Democrats made their bed. Let them sleep in it with Filner.
