Lived in New York City for much of the Bush era. You literally couldn’t walk 2 blocks without seeing “Stop Bush” grafitti (with the ‘o’ marked through the create a bullseye) on public telephones, construction signs, etc. The city fathers seemed not to have a problem with it, as the grafitti was never covered up.
