With a .45 caliber legally strapped to his side, Jordan McManus decided to photograph the federal courthouse in Phoenix last night, realizing he would probably draw attention from police, especially after reading about Raymond Michaels experience last May.
But he was still a little surprised when a police helicopter hovered over him with a spotlight as two patrol cars pulled up next to him and another two cops approached him on foot.
They immediately tried to disarm him, but he refused to let them do it as it is legal to open carry in Arizona.
Then they tried to pat him down, which didnt make sense considering he was already showing a firearm. But he wouldnt let them do that either.
Youre carrying a firearm and taking a picture of a federal building, the cop exclaimed, trying to justify the pat down.
Then they demanded to know who he was, but didnt get anywhere with that either.
Here is a portion of the exchange:
Am I being detained right now? McManus asks.
Absolutely you are, yes, the cop responds.
You have reasonable suspicion that I committed a crime, right?
Well, Im concerned
Youre concerned. Are you detaining me?
I am, he says weakly.
Under the suspicion that I committed what crime?
I dont know yet. Youre not giving us any information.
And there you have the reason why police are always demanding to see peoples identification even though the people are not breaking the law. It gives them a hope that if they run your name through their system, they will find a bench warrant and have an excuse to arrest you.

That looks like the Castillo De San Marcos (sp) in St. Augustine Florida. Is it?
Yep, I grew up around it.
Thanks. I was just a kid when I last saw it but was obviously impressed ;-)
I’m pretty sure the job of stomping evil itself has already been assigned to Christ, so you might humble yourself a bit and think a little deeper than your metaphysical twaddle that lets you off the hook from actually doing something besides lecturing others on the internet.
I find your posts intellectually embarrassing to Christianity.
there is something called the bill of rights in this country. Apparently you’re unfamiliar with it. You’re also rude and insulting to those who disagree with you, but a lot of frjackboot lickers are that way. At least we all know the color of your flag - white.

LOL. That’s funny. Note your delightful insults to me, you who accuses me of insults: “but a lot of frjackboot lickers are that way”, and the color of your flag - white”. Look in the mirror sonny boy, look in the mirror. And the guy was a jerk, a big jerk. Probably why you like him.
You find them embarrassing to your self-proud feeble caricature of Christianity.
They do not embarrass true faith in Christ in the smallest, except that they may be too feeble, not too strong.
Did you miss the part in the bible, Pal, about how the servants of Christ will do what Christ did, and MORE (well, of course, except to die on a cross to take away somebody’s sins).
Your Christianity is way way too polite and I’m sure Satan appreciates the courtesy! I am not usurping Christ. I am using Christ that I believed in. I am carrying Christ to the situation. Christ is actual power, dude... NOT a celestial Dear Abby of advice at arms length... POWER.
When you set the tone tootsie roll, this is what you get.
Not so much for exercising rights, but for poking the bear with a stick. He has the right to do it, but that does not necessarily make it the right thing to do. And the police response was not proportional, but it was expected.
Says the windbag that was decrying exercising our God given rights in order to school our public servants as rude.
Great video isn’t it?
God gave the rights in order to honor Him... not rocket science? You exercise them always in conjunction with Him.
I mean, Pal, if you can see it clear, with your hand in the Lord’s hand, to go and do what the subject of the head article did... well then do not let me stop you. That’s going to be for the Lord to straighten out with you later for your future edification.
I wouldn’t, at least. But God gives different temperaments to different people. I’d do something more like alert them a couple of times, do it those couple of times, then go do it again a third time, unalerted. The alarm ought to be much less. If it isn’t, then yes there is a problem Houston but even then I would want to solve it with grace. I would holler at them not to tell them how awful they are but to tell them how good they ought to be.
Hey man, like I said, it’s too polite... to the devil that is. Because it’s giving tacit approval to your apparent plan of life here, focused on putting PEOPLE down.
I do believe in come-to-Jesus face offs! But I do it the way Jesus would, or the closest I can come. I tell people to make their act better. If I must criticize I follow it with encouragement to do the right thing, the only exception being currently hopeless cases who even then might think better in the future. And I try to be generous about whether someone is hopeless or not if doubt exists... love believes all things.
I’d like to challenge you, and other folks here, to look at your world view of rights and the way God likes to see them exercised, and see if they include some kind of implicit assumed enmity between men. That’s unbiblical, if it does. God gave us a better hope!! We are all one human race, and the first attempt on the agenda should be to unite IN love, AGAINST Satan. It’s not God who put enmity between men. God put enmity between the human race and the serpent! The serpent introduced the enmity between men, to get men distracted from kicking his scaly rear end to the hell where it belonged. Until Jesus came, on mission. And yes you were right that He has taken care of it... but you missed the fact that He invites us to be participants in His action! We are not spectators in this game.
And so if I am a wind bag so be it. I try to be a Holy Spirit wind bag, if I am a wind bag.
And I got my 4th wind here... :-)
Hey, Jesus never said do NOT carry a defensive weapon. He told His disciples to take a sword because He was going to leave while they were going to face great dangers and the miracles on tap that had protected them would not be quite as easy to access. But the idea is that, in the last resort, you may deny a Satan bent on killing other people the resource of the human through which he operates, if that human will not himself deal effectively with Satan. For such purposes, i.e. defending your neighbor’s life, killing or gravely wounding is permissible.

Yup, a malcontent such as yourself. By the way, why do you say occupied GA when GA has a Pub Gov, and a Pub majority in both state houses. Sounds to me like GA is doing pretty good and is a nice red state. Why the disgruntled (which you obviously are) name you use. I don’t see GA as occupied by other than a Pub majority in your state gov’t. Just curious.
Just can't help yourself can you? Wave that white flag!
