Fox News just aired a preview of an hour long special tonight on the growth of food stamp usage under Obama.
The preview was reported by John Roberts who filmed and interviewed a 29-year-old California beach bum in La Jolla who gets $200 per month in food stamp benefits with no work requirement.
What p*sses me off is watching someone pay for her groceries with a bridge card (food stamps), then and get into a brand new Ford Focus and drive away.
Why not?
We paid the family of the Boston bombers over $150,000 in various entitlements and social services.
I was in a Kroger this afternoon and the person in front of me in line read a text message that they had just received to the friend that was accompanying them. Aloud, they stated that: “Kimmie has $260 in food stamps she wants $130 for, you want ‘em?”. To which the other person replied in the affirmative. I was so pissed that I couldn’t see straight, exacerbated by the fact that these maggots purchased the entire basket of junk foods on ....... another EBT card.
And health care costs rise another notch. I wonder whether EBT cards can be programmed to pay only for healthy food. Screaming and shouting will ensue along with cries of Raciss, but so what? Health depends to a great extent on eating healthy food.
As has been discussed in many threads, it's not the recipients who stand in the way of that, it's the huge food conglomerates, distributors and retailers (and their lobbyists and politicians in their home districts) who stand in the way of that.
Thanks, steve86. I’m not here all the time, but what you say about BigFood and their lobbyists and wholly owned politicians makes absolute sense.
What a disgrace. I’d wager that they’re in cahoots with BigPharma, which will benefit greatly from a weak and sick population.
Eat organic. Take no meds. I try to live that way.
Furious!!!
I am too. But I'm more angry at the government bureaucrats and the street activists who're pushing SNAP and EBT, especially onto people who don't want them in order to "break their pride".
Absolutely stunning. I was fuming after that piece!
I'd like to know how La Jolla Jason affords that brand-new shiny black truck he drives, if he doesn't have a job. Are the taxpayers funding that too??
And multiply that $200 a month "free money" (as La Jolla Jason calls it) for this one able-bodied sleazeball ingrate by several million "food stamp" (EBT/SNAP) recipients...!
Think about this, he said he was living the ‘RAT life and he is. The DemocRAT life.
He probably does but doesn't even know it...!

He’s perfectly capable of having a job, just like most of the other bums I see in Los Angeles where 33% of my pay check goes to taxes. 33%! No wonder the middle class is disappearing!!!!
I guess maybe I should lose all self respect and get food stamps so I don’t have to work my @$$ off every day. I was unemployed for six months and never applied for food stamps or any help from the government. I lived off the savings that I EARNED and then got a JOB to SUPPORT MYSELF.
“He was buying sushi and lobster. Showed him at the grocery store. And he has no job, is 29 and doesnt want a job. He wants to surf. Lives with friends and family members. The point is we taxpayers are giving him $200 a month to buy lobster. Are you okay with that???”
Of course not. At the same time I take umbrage at the ignorant notion that anyone is ‘living it up’ on $200 a month in LA. Maybe he eats lobster and sushi and not just for the TV cameras, but he probably sleeps on a bench or in a park every night.
What you probably don’t see is all his other “under the table” income in addition to EBT.
Disability? Selling grass? Working part time off the books?
That’s distracting from the point that no one is ‘living it up’ on $200 a month in LA. If he’s using other income then they need to SAY SO instead of trying to pass off something that’s absolutely untrue.
Here in Los Angeles there’s a carwash - A CARWASH - that accepts EBT cards.
