Richard Dawkins has been forced to defend controversial comments he made online after saying the last time Muslims contributed something worthwhile was during the Middle Ages.
Prof Dawkins, the bestselling author of The God Delusion, wrote on Twitter that all the world's Muslims had won fewer Nobel Prizes than Trinity College, Cambridge. He went on to argue that although Muslims were responsible for many achievements during the Dark Ages, including alchemy and algebra, their contribution since then was questionable.
His comments sparked outrage from many high-profile writers and journalists including author Caitlin Moran and Channel 4 News Economics Editor Faisal Islam.
Moran tweeted: "it's time someone turned Richard Dawkins off and then on again. Something's gone weird." Writing on Twitter on Thursday, Prof Dawkins said: "All the world's Muslims have fewer Nobel Prizes than Trinity College, Cambridge. They did great things in the Middle Ages, though."
While in response to another Twitter user who wrote that Muslims were responsible for alchemy and algebra, he replied: "Indeed, where would we be without alchemy? Dark Age achievements undoubted. But since then?"
He later tried to justify his comments by saying he talked about the number of Muslim prize winners because we often hear "boasts about their total numbers".
He wrote: "Why mention Muslim Nobels rather than any other group? Because we so often hear boasts about (a) their total numbers and (b) their science."
He added: "A statement of simple fact is not bigotry".

True enough. That's why I used the term "good German" to describe those Muslims (typically not German) who may be decent people on a personal level, but who tacitly support, enable or at least fail to oppose the horror of Muslim rule, its expansion through the use of force, and the imposition of Sharia law.
I hope I didn’t sound like I was correcting you. Just making a general observation.
Regarding the horrors of muslim rule, lately I’ve been helping a pal with a website about the Armenian genocide, which will soon be at the 100-year mark. Over a million deliberately exterminated by a muslim government. It had the hallmarks of Holocaust, the savagery, the deliberateness, the numbers. Yet the US government still avoids the subject and the Turkish government still denies it.

Therefore, Islam and other religions practiced by third world people are usually exempt for reasons of political correctness (and because unlike "bigoted" white Christians, Muslims behead people and blow things up for perceived slights).
"Muslim Learning" consisted of taking the knowledge of societies they conquered. When Muslims stopped being able to conquer, their societies decayed.
Not long ago atheists were bemoaning the fact that Christian Europe didn’t get overrun by the “superior islamic civilization” during the middle ages. Atheists would lament about backward Christendom prevailing over the scientifically advanced and socially liberated islamic world.

You stated an absolute: “No Jew kills...”. You did NOT put any time limit on your claim. I stated 3 facts that disprove your statement. You agree they disprove your case, but claim that since 70 years have passed these facts don’t count. Didn’t you show Nobel Prizes dated more than 70 years ago? So, you display evidence over 70 years old that helps your argument, and you reject evidence more than 70 years old that disproves your argument. You won’t be getting a Nobel prize soon.
Finally, your blood libel that I hate the Jews. There is NOTHING in my post - not words, argument or tone - that shows even the merest whiff of hatred. I am posting FACTS to rebut a false claim.
Your reaction to FACTS you dislike is to deny their relevance when you are using the same time period, deny a proven fact, ignore the third, and then hurl an unfounded blood libel.
Truly poor form. Pleas have someone proof your arguments until you come up to speed, and have someone else craft your rebuttal. It would help your case.

Minor quibble, but I can think of at least one Muslim Nobel Prize recipient in physics: Abdus Salam (Pakistani)
I agree with about half his statement. Muslims didn't do anything noteworthy in the middle ages though. Often algebra, and 'zero' are mentioned in this context, but both these concepts were stolen from India, and were not developed by muslims. Everywhere you find acceptance of muhammed, you find ignorance, repression, and death. This has been true since the time of the pedophile forward.
