Gender bender JW Anderson's backless, semi-sheer halter tops for men raised eyebrows at London Men's Fashion Week.
Dry run Another London up-and-comer, Shaun Sampson, showed pale pink organza board shorts and 'skirts' made to look like beach towels.
Frill seekers Martine Roses collection combines feminine elements with inspiration drawn from sports and athletic kits.
Curtain raiser At Alexander McQueen, creative director Sarah Burton opened the show with a fitted suit of white lace.
Skull disclosure The trademark Alexander McQueen skull was woven into the lace designs.
Herd instinct The Topman show featured fanciful cowboys in embroidered florals.
Some fashion trends sneak up on you. Others ring out loud and clear. Last week, as the Spring 14 menswear shows kicked off in London, one trend sounded with all the subtlety of an air horn: androgyny is the new black.

"We are pleased to introduce new US Army Chief of Staff, Summer A. Lillith-Smyth. Lillith-Smyth's first gesture today is modeling this Army's new officer uniform and hair style, helping change the butch image of today's Army and eliminating its former barbaric uniforms with a kinder, gentler combat outfit that says, "I am your friend, Dear, Sweet Enemy!"
Surprised nobody mentioned these yet, fashion for a man’s world.

I love that movie!........

"I proudly introduce Sgt. Jack "Tawny" Cockburn-Sweeney, who is proudly modeling the new NCO uniform that is mobile, stylish, and sure to command respect from the men, womyn, and LGBT fighting force."
In my opinion, no man should ever wear pastels or bright colors. The ideal color for a man's shirt would be the color of John McClain's wife-beater shirt in the last few scenes of "Die Hard."
I'm always on the look-out for interesting earth tones when I buy shirts for my husband or father, but a typical polo shirt will come in 20 different colors, of which only about 4 are good subtle colors--and those are the ones that are usually sold out! Shouldn't that tell the manufacturer that men (and the women who buy their clothes) don't want magenta or lime green shirts.
LOL!
Guess how much “fashion” is hanging in my closet.
Ah, but that was back in the day, centuries before women wore high heels when womanly dress involved not showing legs, and men wore high heels to make their legs more symmetric and alluring to women, rather than the other way around.
Personally, I think reviving some older elements of manly fashion (*not* high heels) like cloaks, capes, morning coats, waistcoats, and maybe hose and doublet wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. Of course, it would make it easier to be a fop than it is when acceptable men’s clothing (formal evening wear aside) ranges from jeans and a t-shirt to a three-piece suit with tie and French-cuffed shirt.
I love it, LOL
Real men wear Wrangler blue jeans, scruffy cowboy boots and a denim or plaid shirt unless it’s Sunday, then good boots and a white shirt.
