Which city will be the next to suffer the fate of Detroit (bankruptcy, alarming crime rate, exceptionally low property value, etc.)?
What's your reasoning behind the city you picked?
no way is LA next...
Washington, DC will be the very LAST city to go bankrupt.
They have an unlimited ability to stick a vacuum hose into pockets anywhere in the country and suck dollars in their direction.
Was there in March. Money is palpably bubbling up thru the sidewalks in that town.
Baltimore was a prosperous, thriving city before it was taken over and controlled by a Marxist regime. Now it is fit for nothing less than an ash pit. Any city that celebrates poverty and thuggery is destined for oblivion.
Whichever one has the most tall buildings and the most democrats in office.
Cleveland, Flint? There are quite a few possibles.
Surprised no one’s mentioned Oakland, CA. I thought I remembered reading that they were on the brink of bankruptcy at one time.
Baltimore, MD, Most of NJ, Most of upstate NY, Most of the rust-belt cities in the upper midwest, The old industrial centers of the southeast, all of the cities along the I-75 corridor, the coal mining towns, the mining and manfacturing centers throughout the US, most of texas and the southwest, the pacific northwest, and alaska.
That is the goal of the communists and fascists currently infesting our federal government. This is what they want, to divide and conquer, and take control of it all.
Make no mistake, this is the goal, and those in power are making it happen, now.
St. Louis actually has been rebounding for the last 5 to 10 years. New stuff going up all the time, interstates being updated, old empty neighborhoods have complete blocks of new homes/condos. Its not good everywhere, and some areas even the cops don’t go in alone, but the city is not next to follow Detroit.
Flint is losing more than 20,000 people per decade. Likely it will become a ghost town before it actually goes broke.
Any city with these 2 factors.
1. Run by Democrats for 40 years
2. Economy was based on one (any one) major business or enterprise.
That was what did Detroit in........
“Baltimore was a prosperous, thriving city before it was taken over and controlled by a Marxist regime.”
And was the hometown for Nazi Pelosi, nee D’Alessandro (her father was the corrupt mayor there). We Californians wished that she had stayed there and crapped in her own nest.
It won’t be Chicago. At least, not as far as bankruptcy goes. About a third of the entire US economy runs through that town and there’s plenty of blood left to suck. Now if we’re talking crime rate, urban depopulation, etc. then sure, Chicago has a bleak future.
My predictions in order:
1. Oakland
2. Los Angeles
3. East St. Louis
4. Chicago
5. Harrisburg, PA
You’re wrong on NJ. Yes, there are pockets of filth (wish Philly would just annex Camden already) but there is lots of wealth here - especially in the North and Central part of the state that is close to NYC. Property values in those areas never fell much. A family member is a Realtor and there is currently about a 15 day inventory of houses for sale. And people are staying, building additions and renovating.
There are huge corporations with lots of infrastructure here that provide a tax base in every sector of the economy from Manufacturing to Service. J&J, Pfizer, Merck, Bristol Myers, Verizon, AT&T, Chubb, Large Law & CPA Firms.... I could go on and haven’t even mentioned professional sports or the Super Bowl.
Like any other state, there are issues. (Newark/Camden) But to answer the original question, I’d look to some of the cities around Detroit. Lansing, Flint, Pontiac... the places where blocks of houses are sitting empty.
Chicago...
Because the gangs run the city..and criminals make the rules in that city and also live there..Its a war zone and full of savages and animals. Along with a corrupt government..
Glad to hear it. I had friends who lived in St. Louis but moved out, so I haven’t really kept up with it.
I thought the question asked for a major city.
If smaller cities like East St. Louis can be included then I would put Camden NJ at the top of the list.
Cleveland! Talk about high crime and corrupt govvies.
