Last year was one of the 10 hottest on record, with sea levels at record highs, Arctic ice at historic lows and extreme weather in various corners of the globe signaling a "new normal," scientists said Tuesday in the 2012 State of the Climate report.
"Our planet as a whole is becoming a warmer place," said Kathryn Sullivan, acting administrator of the NOAA. The report was edited by NOAA scientists and drew contributions from 384 scientists from 52 countries.

This year is one of the coolest in my memory and I am 70.
The weather here in Maryland is great. We had 4 hot days and the rest have been comfortable,
Here it is August 6th. and the temperature here today was 75.

Read the other day that the arctic gets 90 days above freezing every year....this year 45 days and the ics pack is expanding again.

It’s an air POLLUTANT don’t you know? Isn’t it amazing that we have a government agency saying that something without which no life would exist is a pollutant? I guess that is no stranger than doctors who talk about good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. The recommended ratio is 24%”good”. Now just how is it that I need three times as much “bad” as I do “good”? If I told you that you needed three cats for every dog because cats are bad and dogs are good wouldn’t you think I was nuts?

I am 69, born and raised in South Carolina. Only out of the state for three years military and a year living in NC. This is by far the coolest summer I have ever seen in this state and we just broke the rainfall record for the month of July which was set in 1959. Some global warming this is. I stepped outside this morning at seven and it was actually chilly.

ATL has been quite cool, and July was soaking wet. Farmers are having a tough time of it, it has been so wet.
I saw a map that seemed to indicate ATL was only a half a degree cooler than normal in July. I call complete B.S. on that. It was much cooler than that.
