When U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton, R (at right) announces his candidacy for Senate at a barbecue this evening, he will be doing so as an early frontrunner in a 2014 race that could ultimately determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.

Bring in BJ and Hill to campaign for Pryor, let’s bury the guy early!
GO TOM COTTON!
Replacing 'rat Linda Gramnesty would be a big plus.
For those of us who are unaware, is this a vacant seat / special election? And is this currently counted as a Dem or GOP seat?
Cue Nelson Muntz!!
The Democrat Party is gonna take a butt whipping like they have never seen before....and so will the RINO traitors in the Republican Party!!!!
It is a seat held by Dems for years. Pryor is in his 2nd term.
Dems held 3 of the 4 House seats and both Senate seats. Rep. Boozman held the only Republican seat from 2001 to 2011. He ran against Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D) in 2012 and defeated her. In 2010, the Republicans turned 2 other House seats to Republicans, leaving only 1 House seat under the Dems. In 2012, that seat changed to R.
If Cotton does win against Pryor, then 3 House and both Senate seats would have gone from D to R since 2010, giving the state 4 R’s in the House and 2 R’s in the Senate.
The House seat Boozman vacated remained under the R column in the 2012 election.
Buh-bye Mark!
Really need to focus on North Carolina. Kay Hagan will be harder to knock off than Pryor
It was good to see the back of that hag, Blanche Lincoln. If only we can bury Mary Landreau in a similar victory.
Interesting article. I knew Pryor wasn’t doing too well, but I didn’t realize how low his approval numbers are.
I think AR can now be forgiven for the Clintonian travesty.
a 2014 race that could ultimately determine which party controls the U.S. Senate. Not that we could ever tell the difference.
Send Obama down he will really put the nail in Pryers coffin..
I think people of this country hate Obama more than they do the Clintons.
Still well below the margin of fraud. And the GOP-e hasn’t begun attacking Cotton yet.
“...The Democrat Party is gonna take a butt whipping like they have never seen before....”
You hope (and so do I).
Never discount their fraud machine, friend. They are past masters at it.
Until the GOP learns how to fight back, we have to win OVERWHELMINGLY, like Hewitt said “if it ain’t close, they can’t cheat”.
This is what I’m afraid of. Cotton may be a GOP-e. In which case he’ll get in and be there for years.
He’s got an OK record. But I don’t think he’s the next Ted Cruz.
However at this point anyone is better than Pryor.
It’s past time that Arkansas stopped sending Dems to the US Senate. They got rid of Blanche Lincoln in 2010 and now it’s time for Pryor to be retired in the same manner.
Dem senators from Arkansas cast two votes for Obamacare in 2010.
Mark Pryor has to lose to somebody, but I’m not convinced that Tom Cotton is the guy I’d support to replace him.
Tom’s an honored veteran who betrayed his constitutional oath just a few days ago. Check out his active involvement in defeating the Amash amendment to the NDAA for details.
A big-government statist, posing as a conservative, isn’t (in my opinion) what we need to fill this seat.
I think I’ll give Mark Darr a closer look. Rumor has it, he’s considering a run for this seat.
Well, it’s a reality of our days, friend. And unless the GOP at large grows a big set of cajones and fights for every election, every time, every where - like the Dems do - it’ll just be lather-rinse-repeat every election.
“...But I dont think hes the next Ted Cruz...”
Doesn’t have to be. All he has to do is be an American, represent the interests of his constituents and block everything the commie Dems try to shove down our throats - which, when you think of it, is what a real American should ALWAYS do. All he has to do is DO HIS JOB.
And yeah, I realize that’s a lot to ask of anyone in this graceless day and age...
