Friday's jobs report was disappointing, but it also contained a truly heartbreaking statistic. Black teen unemployment is a shocking 41.6%. In July last year, the unemployment was considerably lower, at 36%. That almost half of black teens who want to work can't find jobs is a stain on Obama's economic policies.
This isn't a numbers trick. This isn't a rate based on the whole black teen population in the country. This is the proportion of the black teen population that is looking for work but can't find a job. Just in March, the number was eight points lower at 33%. The white teen unemployment rate is half the black rate, although still high at 20%.
The heartbreaking thing is that these teens haven't given up hope and left the job market, something that has artificially lowered the overall unemployment rate. The unemployment rate is based on those who want a job and are trying to find one.

if you applied the same statistical algorithm to the general population, you’ll find the national unemployment to be about 20%
130m tax filers... that’s 130m jobs
just last fall they were talking about 25m unemployed...
25 / 130 == 19.2%
and thats not including the illegals

Its shocking that 58% of black teenagers have jobs.

If the government could figure out how to deduct payroll taxes from gangbangers, prostitutes, drug dealers and community organizers, this statistic would be a lot lower.

They can’t find work for a reason. There are no jobs for knowing how to play x-box, playstation etc... These youth are not equipped to work any job at all , other than janitorial, and those are tough to come by. Those gov schools have really worked magic with the young ones
When my son was a teenager he pumped gas, washed cars and worked as a groundskeeper or caddy in the summer at the local golf course. People pump their own gas now, car washes are automated, no one at our local golf courses want to pay a caddy and the Mexicans do the maintenance.
Have tried to find a high school boy to mow my lawn and although there are lots of teenagers listed in our local paper who are looking for jobs, they only want to do pet care or house sit. They certainly don’t and won’t mow any lawns, including their own.
that would be the real meat of the story. And what kinds of jobs they think they deserve to/believe they think they can work.

It’s called the “sales tax” everybody who spends money at a legitimate business pays it. Do away with payroll deductions completely and tax the hell out of the big spenders

all anyone has to do to get a picture of the disaster that is our inner city youth is watch the “first 48” on a and e.
illiterate, unintelligible, unable to reason, and absolutely no regard for human life.
and in case you don’t know, a and e is a screaming liberal station, so if they’re showing stuff this bad, you can be sure it is at least so.
