Last year, our son Trayvon Martin was stalked, chased down and killed by George Zimmerman, and Zimmerman faced no punishment whatsoever. That's in large part because Florida is one of at least 21 states with some form of 'Stand Your Ground' law, which enables people like George Zimmerman to claim self-defense.
We're calling on 21 governors whose states have some form of 'Stand Your Ground' laws to review those laws and amend them so that people who instigate conflicts -- people like George Zimmerman -- won't be able to use these laws to get away with murder.
'Stand Your Ground' was never meant to give aggressors the opportunity to get away with murder, but that is what happened when our son, Trayvon Benjamin Martin was killed. After Trayvon's death, law enforcement used the law as an excuse to refuse to arrest George Zimmerman. Even worse, the jury in the case was instructed to think of what Zimmerman did as self-defense, even though Zimmerman ignored instructions from the police and instigated conflict with our son, who was just trying to get home to his father.
We are shocked and heartbroken by the jurys decision to allow our sons killer to go free. Despite our despair, we must honor Trayvons legacy by doing all that we can to protect other young people from being targeted, pursued, and senselessly murdered.
We are not the only ones calling for 'Stand Your Ground' laws to be reviewed. President Obama spoke out on the need for review, and prominent Republicans like Senator John McCain have joined him. This is not a Democrat or Republican issue, its not black or white issue, its a wrong and right issue. This is a matter of making sure that no other family will ever have to go through what we have been through. No parents should ever have to know what it feels like to watch your child's killer walk free.
Here in Florida, we are pushing for an amendment to Florida's 'Stand Your Ground' law. Sign our petition to call on all at least 21 governors to review their laws and consider similar amendments so that they can protect children in their states, just as we wish Florida would have protected Trayvon.
We want to say thank you to all of you who have stood up for our son. Because of all of your efforts, Trayvons life is celebrated all over the world. Please continue to stand with us as we fight to ensure that his legacy is to leave behind a safer and more peaceful world for all our sons and daughters.
the Seven Figure kind
Racist Holder said for white people to run away. But that’d be racist if they did that.
If some thug is trying to rob and beat you, just let them.
You wouldn’t want them to feel bad about themselves.
Now go pay your taxes, you hard working government is broke. :)
Have to make it fair for law-breaking thugs who want to kill you.
Had Tray beaten George to death as I believed he planned to do, Jenell would have been Tray's "corroboration".
But things didn't work out like Tray planned and that's why Jenell disappeared.
In the re-enactment, George did not say that Tray said "Why are you following me". And the media was no help.
I'm almost inclined to go back and look at unsolved cases in Tray's areas of residency.
Change for trayvon
"All Black Gangsta wannabes need to be allowed to get their Whitey Smackdown whenever and wherevere they want it, and anyone harming one of these "Angels from Hell," must be prosecuted and found guilty so that thethis class of gangsta wannabes can be protected under color of law.
Add a heavy dose of reparations for anything and everything they feel offended about, and you will then start to satisfy these racists.
They would never admit it, but the solutions they seek are very much like what the Jihadistrs would inflict on others with their Sharia Law. This is just another version of the same tyranny...with a different hue. Call it Black Liberation Theology Law. It's the type of place they want to go.
Not for me and mine, or any lover of true American liberty based on the unalienable rights enumerated by pur founders...not so long as I draw breath.
SYG, Castle Doctrine and other self defense laws have roots in the push back against Jim Crow laws. Yet today's black leaders line up to help the Progressives destroy all of the progress made to secure black families.

“...its not black or white issue...”
NOW it’s not a black or white issue?? What the hell was that for nearly a year and a half? “White Hispanic”, “cracka”, “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon”, “stand your ground laws are racist”, etc. ad nauseum. But now it’s not a “black or white” issue.
I’ll play the game, but quit changing the rules...
We reviewed them.
No changes, unless we strengthen them to keep thugs from injuring more people.
Done.
Attention George Zimmerman!
The parents already won $1 million from Zimmerman’s HOA.
That’ll buy a lot of purple drank.
According to Crump who is highly unreliable and was playing games before the trial.
Something is motivating them to keep lying, holding press conferences and speaking out on a law that had nothing to do with their little thug getting shot.
They want a “Black Criminals Enabling Act.”
They seem to have left out the paragraph where he is spotted casing a townhouse, then runs down to daddy’s girl friend house, then returns to put a beatdown on a cracka, and he seemed to be in no hurry to end the beatdown and get home.
Ol' George just slid under your thug son like he was going for home and dared your thug son to bash his head onto the sidewalk. He then asked your thug son to punch him in the nose.
That's how it happened. Saint Skittles was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Hey admin mod, what happened to my post # 3? I’ve said MUCH worse on these forums. Somebody get a sour tongue over racial commentary?
