The Attorney General’s approach to the enforcement of law at least has the virtue of novelty. Usually, the Department of Justice abides by Supreme Court rulings on matters of law, especially when it strikes down statutes that — at least in theory — prevent the government from enforcing them. If the Obama administration can ignore existing statutory law on the employer mandate for ObamaCare, though, perhaps the DoJ can enforce statutory laws that no longer exist.
I wonder if the federal courts will be willing to go along with that:
The Justice Department is preparing to take fresh legal action in a string of voting rights cases across the nation, U.S. officials said, part of a new attempt to blunt the impact of a Supreme Court ruling that the Obama administration has warned will imperil minority representation.
The decision to challenge state officials marks an aggressive effort to continue policing voting rights issues and follows a ruling by the court last month that invalidated a critical part of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. The Justices threw out a part of the act that required certain states with a history of discrimination to be granted Justice Department or court approval before making voting law changes.
In the coming weeks, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. is expected to announce that the Justice Department is using other sections of the Voting Rights Act to bring lawsuits or take other legal action to prevent states from implementing certain laws, including requirements to present certain kinds of identification in order to vote. The department is also expected to try to force certain states to get approval, or “pre-clearance,” before they can change their election laws.

Anyone know if the “Voting Rights Act” applies to Hispanics, or just to Blacks?
Texas is 38% Hispanic, and just 12% Black, which is actually less than the Black national average of 13%.
If “VRA” does apply to Hispanics, that raises some interesting questions about how federal agencies categorize Hispanics.
In general, the federal government classifies “Hispanics” as “White” any time that makes “White Americans” look bad.
For instance, the FBI classifies “Hispanic” crime perpetrators as “White.”
Thus, all “Hispanic” murderers become “White” murderers.
Also, the National Institutes of Health classify “Hispanics” as “White” in their health statistics.
American “Hispanics” are less healthy than “White” Americans.
Thus, when the health of “White” Americans is compared to “White” Europeans who have national health insurance, the results are skewed, unfairly, in favor of national health insurance.
Also, the Census Bureau keeps two sets of books for American “Hispanics.”
For instance, in Texas, the Census Bureau claims that 81% of the residents are “White.”
But, further down the page, the Census Bureau says that only 45% of Texas residents are “White Only, Not Hispanic Or Latino.”
I’m going to guess that when it comes to “Affirmative Action Quotas” and “Voting Rights Quotas” the federal government moves ALL the Hispanics from the “White” category into the “Hispanic” category!
And veteran Judge Jerry Edwin Smith of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals will joyously make mincemeat in every way possible of Holder and Obozo. Judge Jerry has previously threatened to hold Eric Holder in contempt and thereby obtained prompt compliance with his orders. Think of Judge Jerry as today’s “only law west of the Pecos.”
Hispanics are counted as “white” when they commit crimes and as minorities when they are the victim.
Texas is the only state that has the infrastructure to make it on its own (its own electrical grid for one) -
I’m in KS, and I’d hope if Texas goes “Republic”, OK, KS, NB would go right along with it.
More lawlesslness from Holder’s DOJ. His first target is Texas.
