George Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, emerged to help rescue someone who was trapped in an overturned truck, police said today.
Sanford Police Department Capt. Jim McAuliffe told ABC News that Zimmerman "pulled an individual from a truck that had rolled over" at the intersection of a Florida highway last week. Florida Highway Patrol is now handling the case, McAuliffe said.
The crash occurred at the intersection of I-4 and route 417, police said.
It's the first known sighting of Zimmerman since he left the courtroom following his acquittal last week on murder charges for the death of Martin. Zimmerman, 29, shot and killed Martin, 17, in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, 2012. The jury determined that Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense.
The acquittal prompted dozens of protests across the country this past weekend and his lawyers have said that Zimmerman has been the subject of death threats. His lawyers said Zimmerman has been wearing a bullet-proof vest when he ventures out in public.
Zimmerman's parents told ABC News' Barbara Walters they too have received death threats and have been unable to return to their home.
"We have had an enormous amount of death threats. George's legal counsel has had death threats, the police chief of Sanford, many people have had death threats," Zimmerman's father, Robert Zimmerman said."'Everyone with Georgie's DNA should be killed' -- just every kind of horrible thing you can imagine."

The individual rescued from the overturned truck must have been very glad that Zimmerman was there instead of one of his enemies. And Zimmerman’s enemies are enemies of our Constitution.
Your analogy has some validity but also some crucial weaknesses. People are born into Islam just like people are born with a racial identity, but a black person cannot decide to quit being black. On the other hand, a person could decide to leave Islam. I don’t think blacks who live their lives as they should are in any way obligated to denounce other blacks for their wrong behavior in order to be accepted as black people.
Even though it may be human nature to be prejudice, we ought to resist this inclination. I like this conversation in The African Queen:

He is not supposed to be, but as his first trial proved, they will manufacture a charge. Because the people, via their votes, said that they do not live where the law, not politics rule, I would not be surprised if Holder’s goons went after him.

No. It is way past time to act. The problem is there are too few who even know right from wrong even on a forum for conservatives.
Read the founders. They understood the risk. Their actions were well thought out. They were calculated. And they were level headed.
Random anger and vigilante justice will result in chaos and then a totalitarian state. Those in power are not afraid of this response. It is what they are hoping for. It is their plan to gain the keys to the kingdom. What they fear are the calm, cool heads along with the resolute determination of the Tea Party. They fear Chick-fil-a standing for family values. They fear Hobby Lobby fighting for freedom of conscience in the courts. They fear conservative talk radio and websites like this one. They fear Sheriff Joe Arpaio refusing to stop his pursuit of truth and justice. They do not fear a disorganized, angry, violent, lawless opposition.
A civil and moral view toward a criminal says, we (society) must restrain you to protect society from your behavior and to protect you from your own behavior. An angry, vindictive view say, you deserve to suffer for the pain you have caused others and we delight in seeing that happen to you.
The second view is judgmental, condemning and always hypocritical because whenever we condemn others, the Bible says, “thou doest the same things.” (See Romans 2:1.)
Christ is our example. He never compromised in the slightest way with evil. He stood firmly against murder, adultery, theft, rebellion, idolatry, perversion, etc. Yet He had compassion on the worst of sinners, He helped, He healed, He educated, and ultimately gave His life... not for good people, but for His enemies which includes all of us. This means both liberals and conservatives. We conservatives may know right from wrong (while many apparently do not), but it means very little if we abandon God’s command to love your neighbor as yourself.
The mess we are in is due to abandoning Christ as a society and as individuals. He is the only hope of restoring and healing this nation. The only alternative is destruction.

Oh, my—you have been brainwashed by the left. I am not talking about people choosing their religion or not being able to choose to be black. I am talking about choosing what is morally right. Hate the sin but love the sinner. If a person chooses to accept the sins of radicalism in either case rather than speaking out against the sin, then he is complicit in that sin. They are not “rising above it”.
The penalty for apostasy in Islam is death.
It appears you can only be accepted as a "black person" by other blacks. The narrative is that whites just don't "get" what it means to be black. It also appears that a black person can indeed decide to quit being black, and they are looked upon by the "authentic" black community with no less hatred and venom than is reserved for apostates by devout Muslims.
