Former GOP Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell told her tax records were breached
The Washington Times ^ | July 17, 2013 | By Ben Wolfgang and Dave Boyer

More than two years after her upstart Senate campaign rocked the Delaware political world, Christine O'Donnell got an unexpected contact from a U.S. Treasury Department agent warning that her private tax records may have been breached.

The phone message earlier this year shocked the battled-scarred candidate, a tea party favorite who knocked off Republican mainstay Michael Castle in the primary before losing in a bid to win Vice President Joseph R. Biden's former seat.

"Ms. O'Donnell, this is Dennis Martel, special agent with the U.S. Department of Treasury in Baltimore, Md. ... We received information that your personal federal tax info may have been compromised and may have been misused by an individual," he said in the January message left on her cellphone.

For Ms. O'Donnell, the message immediately raised red flags. On March 9, 2010, the day she revealed her plan to run for the Senate in a press release, a tax lien was placed on a house purported to be hers and publicized. The problem was she no longer owned the house.

Yet another example of CRIMINAL behavior by the IRS!

How long, My Fellow Americans, are we going to stand for this abuse by OUR OWN GOVERNMENT?

We can end it simply by passing the FairTax!

Which FReepers defend the IRS now?

There are plenty of FReepers who realize that the income tax is the law of the land, but I don't know any who think it's a good idea.

Wanted an eye-catching lead in.

Government power is derived by the consent of the governed. That is why our Constitution is very specific about the powers granted to the government. Unlike European Democracy, the power of the government is derived from the power taken from the Monarchy. And the Monarchy had absolute power.

Why do I bring this up? When the Founders drafted the Constitution the did not consent to give it the people's income. They did not approve of a federal income tax. They well understood that this power in essence gave the government all of the people's income and then it was the government that gave it back in the amounts they did not tax. Clearly, a group of men dedicated to life, liberty and property, did not think it was a good idea to hand the federal government the income of the people.

One might say that I am crazy. The 16th amendment only gives power to levy taxes on income, it says nothing that income is the property of government?

If that is true, tell me where congress is forbidden to take 100% of income. Hint it is not and marginal tax rates have in the past been 90%

And if true that income is not the property of the government why isn't due process not fully in effect with tax code compliance. The IRS can put a lien on your house without a judgement.

In matters of tax, throw out the Judicial system, the IRS has its own system of Administrative Courts.

Forget about equal protection- the government can tax you at one rate and your neighbor at a lower rate. Note, the constitution original taxing powers went to great lengths to insure equality of taxes levied.

How about the 5th amendment- try not signing a tax return based on self incrimination and see how far that gets you.

All these are examples that when it comes to matters of your personal income, it is clearly not yours. The government has structured the tax code and behaves in a matter well outside the constitutional limits placed on the government.

Putting aside her claim on national TV that she used to be a witch, her lengthy non-career.

She left college 22 years ago.

She spent a few years as a talking head - basically the go-to telegenic conservative girl for contrast on CNN and other networks.

The she formed her own group (SALT) apparently so she could have an affiliation to put after her name as she appeared on MTV and Politically Incorrect and other pop culture shows (Sex in the 90s, etc.).

Then she took a job in 2003 at ISI, a pretty well-respected conservative thinktank, as a media relations person. She didn't work out and when they let her go, she filed a lawsuit with the EEOC against them. A "conservative" - filing an EEOC lawsuit.

That lawsuit filing is unbelievable - claiming that being fired psychologically dmaged her so much that she could not get out of bed, or work for years.

So since 2003 she has basically been filing lawsuits and running for office, and living off campaign donations.

She's been out of school for more than 20 years and she's held a real job for about one of them.

Then there's the witch stuff, the weirdo Gawker story, the live-in boyfriend who wasn't a live-in boyfriend, etc.

I hope so!

And a pox on the house of Karl Rove and the GOPe dingbats who worked their butts off to ensure that she did not win the General Election!

They were sore losers, and I hope the Bluebird of Happiness craps on their cake every day of the rest of their lives!

The 16th amendment is another failed amendment that should be repealed just like the alcohol ban was.

I am vehemently against something like an IRS that has as much power as it does. It's progressive tax system is riddled with politically generated unfair remedies that have no business in capitalism.

I'd much prefer we abolish and imprison every one of its employees. Prison! You can't work for the Devil and expect to come out unscathed
