An unidentified man was hospitalized with a massive head injury Friday following an apparent bias-fueled attack in the West Village, witnesses and officials said. Witnesses on Greenwich Ave. near W. 12th St. said the white man who cops said is in his 30s was belting back beers outside Bennys Burritos about 5:30 p.m. when he began mouthing off to a black customer in the outdoor seating area.
You n-----s are why I lost my job, witnesses overheard the man say.
Outraged, the black man punched the bigoted boozer, sending him reeling backward onto the rain-slick sidewalk.
The mans head cracked open on the concrete, said one witness who did not want to be named.

Tell me about it. I use to drive a yellow cab in New York city (when I use to be insane lol), the absolute WORST were the drunks. That’s probably the closest I ever came to murdering somebody was doing that job and dealing with the drunks. The most obnoxious SOBs you can imagine.
I disagree. What does the Constitution say about this? Is the penality for drunken speech a busted skull administered by strangers? Do you think the knockout game is ok? CC
You can attack anyone you want. Just beware there are laws.
IMO, the reason this black guy reacted so strongly was because of the constant bleating on the MSM about the Zimmerman trial and how the poor little boy was shot for doing nothing.
Do you realize that regardless of what the white guy said, if he had stayed conscious he would have been justified in using deadly force against this black guy?
He did not get what he deserved, he was assaulted for no good reason and I hope the guy who hurt him goes to jail for it.
The guy was asking for a punch, but a self-disciplined individual would not have obliged him.
Thank goodness he didn’t shoot him. Mayor Bloomberg would have had a fit.
Let’s take a guess that there was more to this then what we’re hearing....and that they were both big mouths. No excuse for smashing someone.
Yeah I believe the law (at least in New York) says no matter what someone says to you, you can’t touch them. No matter how vicious it is. I think verbal threats such as “I’m going to kill you” is probably a different matter, but when I use to unfortunately live in NYC I saw a few incidents like this, someone going off with the names and POW and the cops arrest the hitter for assault. To me the best method is to get the verbal assaulter to throw the first punch, then you can go to town on his ass.
So you would be OK with me assaulting you and putting you in the hospital over an insult?
The granting of a "license to commit violence over insults and perceived acts of disrespect" to "protected groups" needs to end.
Trayvon felt he had the right to beat Zimmerman. Zimmerman corrected that impression. If the NYC assailant had been blown away in self defense, I would have been happy.
Drunk ex-Goldman Sachs banker meets angry black guy with chip on his shoulder.
White guilt at work. Here.
This is exactly why Sharpton and the race baiters have so much power. There’s always ample number of whites who are glad to agree that whites and blacks should be held to different standards.
sometimes punching people goes pretty bad
“Ex-Minneapolis cop gets 43 months in prison for punching bar patron”
he was a SWAT officer(off duty) when he did this...
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.”
Whatever happened to that?
Bruised egos are more important now.
Since that’s the norm now, I say sidewalks should be removed and replaced with something softer like soil and grass till sanity returns to mankind.
BTW,hitting a drunk is so heroic.not.
It cuts both ways.
On the one hand, nothing excuses responding to an insult by doing serious physical damage to the insulter. If a white guy punched someone out like this, he’d probably be accused of attempted murder.
On the other hand, even if you’ve lost your job because of racial preferences, as well as government-sponsored economic problems, that’s no excuse for getting drunk and insulting a stranger who had nothing to do with it.
And if you learn one thing in New York, it’s to avoid provoking minorities. You don’t even make eye-contact with strangers on the streets and subways, if you know what’s good for you.
Not a crime, like punching someone out, but pretty stupid.
Absolutely...built character.
Don’t let your mouth write a check your a** can’t cash was another saying I grew up with?
The knockout game is quite different. This guy wasn’t some innocent minding his own business. Freedom of speech has consequences in the real world.
I just don’t get where insulting someone verbally justifies assaulting someone physically.
