I pray for a fair and just verdict. My support and thoughts go out to the Zimmerman family and the defense team as we wait.

a person is justified in the use of deadly force and does not have a duty to retreat if: (1) He or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony; or (2) Under those circumstances permitted pursuant to s. 776.013. If Zimmerman was facing "great bodily harm" (like brain damage) from the beating, then he was justified. Period. Exactly. If Zimmerman is not guilty of 2nd Degree Murder because of self-defense, then he is also not guilty of manslaughter for the same reason.

Because they are women - WHITE women. The same stupid, senseless bundles of raw emotion who singlehandedly gave us two terms of Obama. Ouch. And true.

In a roundabout way, that's what I meant. Here's a Yankee tellin' us how Southern girls talk...and he doesn't even know the word "y'all."
I call BS on the entire story.
That's my defense of Belle Virtue!

I would think it would be impossible to find an impartial jury at this point for a retrial.

Had to leave for awhile
Know that the jury is getting a catered supper and they asked a question for clarification of manslaughter. Did she give a public answer?

there is going to be a lot of trouble for the prosecution all the way to the top after this, regardless of verdict. All the way to the top of where?
FL Governor Scott appointed Angela Corey, who decided to indict GZ. Obama said, "If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon Martin." AG Holder sent his people to help organize protests for TM's arrest last year.

If you are flying out of DFW, go to the south entrance and leave early. The airport is under destruction and the north entrance is closed. The detour sucks, too.

and I'd rather read the verdict here. Me, also. This is the only place that I will hear it from - everything else if off except my computer logged on only to FR and my praise music. I should ask if someone would ping me - with any updates.
Uncle Chip and Papa Bear3625 would either of you please ping me if the jury comes back with a verdict or they are retiring for the night? And this is for anyone else, I would appreciate it. Now I'm going to do all that's within me to do.

Two of the witnesses in this case, both young males, could have intervened and prevented the need for Zimmerman to shoot Martin.<<<<<
I think even THEY were afraid for their lives.

A point which should have been made but was not.
If a stranger with a CCW was walking down the street and saw Martin smashing Zimmerman’s head repeatedly being smashed into the concrete, they could legally shoot Martin if they felt Zimmerman’s life was in danger.
A stranger could legally shoot him but Zimmerman could not shoot him in self defense?
That would have been a huge point to make IMO.

Yes, I was on a jury before and one member insisted on asking the judge a question. Went through the whole rigmarole and the judge told us the same answer we told her. Total waste of time.

I’m just sayin’ what I’ve heard of the facts and the law. They can do anything they want to, unfortunately, and also it could be only one juror going in a direction the others are trying to change.

It would certainly be impossible to exclude the phone contents again in a retrial, and the jury selection process favors the defense so a tainted jury would likely be tainted in Zimmerman’s favor.
Conviction is now or never.

Good point, I think...but what would his defense be under FL law.

conclusion: they dropped murd2 on some other element. They are not considering self defense
