Possible, but why drop it off, why not just stay there (and if it was drugs) and be safe, enjoy it ?

I think he dropped something behind the bushes, then went home thinking that he lost the guy. Once he felt the coast was clear, he decided to go back and get it.

I don't buy it. She had been telling him not to get into fights anymore (based on previous text messages between them), and she said he was in his Daddy's back yard and she told him to stay there. I don't think she was lying at all.
