Watching attorneys, minus female panel member, on greta v show same reaction.

The stuff that gets missed is appalling. Mainly hype and bravado instead of fact based debate.

After this, no one need wonder why people ‘don’t want to get involved.’

GZ is fortunate to have family in Peru. I hope he can make a nice, long visit while his attorneys sue every SOB who brought this nightmare about for him.

Let’s just say that those who claim the jurors are idiots because they are women, will probably be ranting about how ‘smart’ the women are, should they come back, very quickly, with a NOT GUILTY finding.

I'm reserving comment until I see the decision. I'm going to go all panicky and chicken little over speculation.

Diana Tennis is usually the lone voice of reason on that panel.

This reminds me of old baldy's comment about T buying skiddles and saying 'he paid for them'! I remember it because that's the first comment I heard tuning into the trial. I thought someone accuse him of not paying for them - I soon realized what an 'dummy' he is.

I wonder if that would have been considered "opening the door" for MoM to make some references to the fact that the prosecution tried to claim in closing the decedent was of good character, but failed to provide any evidence of his character. Well, aside from the fact that Rachel said he liked fighting, his dad expected to find him in Juvie, and even the prosecutor couldn't say much specific in support of his character aside from the fact that he should be regarded as a hero because he might(*) on one occasion have actually paid for some candy.

(*) The 7-11 video and transaction records do show that he purchased it, but I don't think the prosecution let them in. One thing that really irks me about trials is that a jurors are denied information which would have substantial probative value on the basis that it might be "prejudicial". It's kept out not because it's irrelevant, but because it is relevant, and would let the jury make a well-informed judgment about whether any altercation would more likely have been caused by the decedent or the defendant. To the extent that such information would be prejudicial against people who have a habit of engaging in violent behavior to others, too bad. People who don't want to be judged in such fashion shouldn't behave like thugs.

In an appeals case, only issues raised in trial court can be appealed (99% of the time). That's why O'Mara and West raised objections when they did and tried for the directed verdict.

If Zimmerman is found not guilty on all charges, then it doesn't matter. If he's convicted, then those issues can be raised on appeal because they were raised in trial court. If O'Mara/West didn't raise the issues in trial court, appeals court won't even look at them.

I hope that aquittal comes in and Zimmerman goes to Peru also.

I so identify with Zimmerman. I have been a strong proponent
of racial equality in this country my whole life.

I now feel betrayed. Horribly betrayed as a white person who has stood up for Blacks my whole life. And here was a wonderful man who tutored black children and stood up for a Black man who had been unjustly treated in Sanford, even handing out flyers to Black churches asking for support for that man. A caring person.

Where are those Black families now to support Zimmerman when the raging mob is lynching him in court.?
Where is the honesty now and the “equality”?

So, after my whole life of being in support of Blacks being treated equally and justly...now I am just another “creepy ass cracker”. Its ‘them” against me. I may work with Blacks, live in the same neighborhood, shop in the same stores....but, if I am ever in a situation like Zimmerman, their hate will turn against me just as they have turned against Zimmerman in Sanford.

I realized finally tonight...
The trust between me and Blacks is broken...That is my reality now. And I am angry at the Blacks for betraying Zimmerman and by extension, me too.

Thanks. She was the female attorney, and agree she keeps on point and isn’t wishy/washy in her opinions

Extremely well-stated. And I also feel the same way. Except that I already felt betrayed....and knew what was coming and headed our way even before the Zimmerman issue came up. I figured it out right around the year 2008.

Did you read the comments?

No, but just did... Wow! You're seeing exactly what this administration and his backers are wanting to happen - to divide us along ethnic, class, and religious lines. They're trying to destroy everything that made America great.

My heart goes out to both the Zimmerman and Martin families. It was a tragedy - a national tragedy. One that could have been avoided if we only followed what God commanded of us, and our Constitution.

Both TM and GZ are victims of "social injustice" - manmade. Trayvon is a victim of the victim mentality and GZ a victim of that culture as it expands. This tragedy is only one of many with a similar cause that occur daily across our nation.

I took a drive around my city of about 55% black and 45% white. For its size, the third or fourth most violent city in America. Mostly this is due to black on black crime and directly related to this culture that has developed with government assistance. I saw some "Trayvon types" with their hat sideways trying to put gas into their car next to two couples riding together, obviously on an evening out - one couple white the other black. I saw a couple black guys all sweaty and pants hanging, buying beer, just getting off work it seemed. Then the sweetest older white lady came by and talked to my little dog who was watching everything out my truck window while I was eating a snack.

I was struck by how life really does go on and convinced that left to ourselves and following the laws God laid for us, without so much government, mega corporation, or theocratic interference, the people of the world could better work things out for themselves, as our true inclination is to be good to each other for the most part.

I believe we somehow must get back across the lines we cross when we take fruits from one and give to another, take the lives of the inconvenient, or grow governments beyond their intended purpose. We have put our lives and futures into the hands a few through lazy indifference and a fault in the number of citizen representatives needed in today's world. So we've made a mess of things and reaping what we've sown.

How to fix it? I'm not sure it's possible for us to fix it without God's intervention. But we can try. I suggest a start is to simply be kind to another person - especially someone different from ourselves. Remember to practice what we preach, to hold all innocent until proven guilty, and hardest of all - to forgive those who trespass against us.

Blessed are the peace-makers, for they shall be called sons of God! And daughters to I might add... :)

I think it has been brewing within me since this last election and the changes in the country, this administration. this trial brought me right up to my new reality...no more denial that all of this is not real.
