Today, July 9th, is DAY #21 (of 5th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.
Yesterday was the first full day of defense witnesses. Perhaps the most significant of the first set were the two police officers who stated Tracy Martin, Trayvon’s father, said on 2/28/12 the cries for help on the 911 calls were NOT Trayvon. Later in the day Tracy Martin took the stand and essentially said the two detectives were lying. A great analysis of the events from yesterday is available HERE.
What additionally strikes as important to us is the first signs of desperation from the original nucleus of the Scheme Team construct, Benjamin Crump and Daryl Parks – attorneys for the Martin family. Parks appeared on Piers Morgan show last night and the video should be watched by anyone who knows how the scheme was constructed.
We accept that Mark O’Mara is conflicted in this case, and he is trying to walk a fine line between presenting a defense to a case built on political pressure and outright fraud; Yet simultaneously avoiding exposition of both the politics and the fraud itself.
The intentionally avoided open doors exposing the fraud creates anxiety for those of us who know what is inside the room he is avoiding. Our prayers are that his passing those wide open doors is based on prudence [within an unknown strategy]. However, our fear is the hasty and politically correct avoidance might cause him to pass by the room holding the key to George Zimmerman’s ultimate ‘long-term’ freedom.
It should be noted the NAACP Annual National Convention starts in Orlando on Friday; Additionally, preparations are being made in/around Miami-Dade for a Wednesday defense wrap up with a community/LEO preparation meeting today.

Manslaughter—The Next Iteration of the Narrative?I highly recommend that those who are interested in the legal analysis of this trial read all of the articles at Legal Insurrection about it.
Why charge murder 2 on such little evidence of a “depraved mind”? Perhaps the prosecution believed more damning evidence would be found, or they hoped that the murder charge would lead to a plea bargain or compromise jury verdict on manslaughter. In Florida manslaughter is a lesser included offense to murder 2, and the jury will certainly have the manslaughter instruction to consider in their deliberations.Indeed, unless new and revelatory evidence emerges of Zimmerman’s “depraved mind”, I anticipate the prosecution’s narrative to re-center on manslaughter as their most likely “win” in this case.

Even so. From what I can understand of this, I am very leery that it be admitted as evidence. Actually, as corrupted as the system is, it may get in after all.
But, it involves too much subjectivity on the part of the creator. It might be useful if there were better raw data - say three different videos from different angles. But this amalgamation is not that. Too much assumption and speculation.

And with the above mention of depraved mind would not the prosecution have need to ask for a psychiatrist to do an interview to know the state of GM’s mind at that time and date, as in he saw TM and stalked TM for weeks before the altercation?
I can see it played during final arguments as the defense postulates its opinion as to what happened but not as evidence.
"Depraved Mind" is a legal term of art which does not require a psychiatric witness to establish. I think it probably means "malicious" or "with evil intent." It is not intended to mean a mental disorder that a shrink could assess.

Agree. I’ve pretty much seen and heard all the evidence the jury has and I think could walk the scene there in Florida and explain pretty much exactly what happened.
However at this point it would require a new trial as the State has rested! And at no time in the trial did they mention the state of GZ mind!
There is an article on the WSJ that explains that the state of Florida does not have a provision for a reduced count, it is either all or nothing guilty or innocent of second degree murder. The writer claims that even if Zimmerman is found not guilty, it won’t exonerate him because Florida juries don’t have the option finding him guilty of a lesser crime.
It sounded like another wishy washy article from the WSJ, trying to straddle the line between the truth and liberal politically popular thinking.
To those asking why MOM didn’t call George’s Dad to the stand, might it have anything to do with them having a personal relationship? I thought I recall hearing that when MOM first signed on. Just wondering.
