...Now that the prosecution's case against Zimmerman is in, as a legal matter, I just don't see how a jury convicts him of second degree murder or even manslaughter in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
So what happened? How can an armed man who shot and killed an unarmed teen after being told by the police that he didn't need to keep following him, likely be found not guilty of those crimes?
I certainly sympathize with the anger and frustration of the Martin family and doubt that a jury will accept the entirety of George Zimmerman's account as credible. But based on the legal standard and evidence presented by prosecutors it is difficult to see how jurors find proof beyond a reasonable doubt that it wasn't self defense.
Prosecutors are at a distinct legal disadvantage.

So Dan Abrams is saying that he will got off on a legal technicality not the evidence. And that after a full year of lobbying for his conviction.
A more neutral headline would be “Case Weak, Conviction Unlikely” or just “Conviction Unlikely”. “He’s going to walk” sounds as if he has gotten away with something, that there is an injustice. IMO it’s a clear cut case of self defense.
If you are stupid then I am also, because I was shocked that they didn’t pick 12 jurors for a murder trial.
Drudge is a dumpster diving drama queen
Prediction: Zimmerman to be declared not guilty or at least a mistrial.
Unarmed!?
The gangsta had a 1000 lb sidewalk and he was beating Zimmerman's head with it.
Problem is, the press is setting it up for riots as well as the “educated” reformers.
Time to let it happen and let patriots respond. If the media and the guvment decides against law and order, let the people respond.
Prosecutors are at a distinct legal disadvantage.
The state, in and of itself has a distinct legal advantage. Near unlimited resources, the imparted moral authority assumed of the prosecution and near blanket immunity to malicious intent/prosecution. Add to that the fact that they are political vassals of higher politicians who have interests in the outcome of the verdict. It's no wonder why "Innocent until proven guilty" and "beyond reasonable doubt" are the legal standards of conviction. If the prosecution find itself at a disadvantage one wonders why they elected to prosecute at all.
uh...Dan....cause he;s NOT GUILTY!!!
Because Ben Crump was just deposed and he just blew the scheme sky high.
I sure hope you are correct. Have you heard anything definitive to make such a statement or is it just ‘hoping’?
Just settling back in after a Sunday afternoon...any links to this please?
He was armed with concrete. That was his weapon. If I beat you down with a hairbrush, does mean I am unarmed?
As a country hick, I understand it perfectly. What I don't understand is why the hell anyone in their right mind would be a "city dweller".
They obviously wanted it to look like he was crucified.
Hahahahaha...hope this isn’t blasphemy - Lord knows I was in the pew today, but the first thing I thought of was what a kool kite that would be.
“Hes going to walk”
If he does walk, he ought to run for Mayor.
The “dispatcher” was apparently repeated asking Zim for street addresses. Zim had to get close to the buildings in the dark and rain to get an appropriate house and street #. “Dispatcher” apparently asked Zim “Where is he now” or Which way did he go” etc.
Rubio needs to come out in solidarity with Zimmermann.
St. Tray was crucified?
