Jim Carrey to Assault Rifle Fans: I Love You and I'm Sorry I Called You Names

As NewsBusters previously reported, actor Jim Carrey back in March called gun owners "heartless motherf--kers."

On Sunday, Carrey tried taking it back writing on Twitter:

Asslt rifle fans,I do not agree wth u,nor do I fear u but I do love u and I'm sorry tht in my outrage I called you names.That was wrong. 3^{

Carrey followed that up with:

Btw I don't need a crisis mgr, just a conscience. Calling ppl names is inappropriate but my position on assault weapons hasn't changed. ;^}

This isn't the first time Carrey's conscience got the better of him.

Last month he announced that he was not going to support his soon to be released movie "Kick-Ass 2" because of the violence.

Kick Ass 2 will probably do better or as good as the first, but, if it doesn't do as good, or tanks at the box office, the producers and studio should sue Carrey for the difference or loss. Part of taking on a role in Hollywood is the expected promotion tour that is expected from the cast, whether they like it or not. John Depp didn't look too happy doing the tour for The Lone Ranger, but he was out there doing it. Carrey should be banned by Hollywood from doing another film, if he is going to decide that, he's not going to play by the rules.

Sadly I couldn’t boycott his movies because I’ve long thought he was an unfunny not very bright far left POS and don’t watch his movies anyway. He may have tried to walks back his idiotic statements on assault weapons and their owners but he’s still an unfunny left wing POS.

beginning to publicly question Jim Carrey’s sanity and general mental health. Several issues ago, Star Magazine did a lengthy piece about Jim going off of his medication (for either depression or manic depression), and how his “crazy highs and ugly lows” were the biggest reason for his split with Jenny McCarthy.

People Magazine even seemed to be getting in on it, by carefully quoting Jim’s denial that he was going crazy, then asking if his manic tweets revealed something about his mental health.
