Did it look like this ?
Disturbing the peace?
It strikes me as funny that the guy was driving a fake "technical" around Detroit.
Super cool, thx!
A 50 cal just like that rolled down Main Street as part of the Independence Day parade yesterday. No arrests were made.
So true. The roadside "welcome" signs around the perimeter of my town all say "Fireworks prohibited by law" in small lettering under the town name. I'm sure there are lots of other things prohibited here, but that's the one the politicians feel it necessary to mention. Some of the local youngsters (I think...) have scratched through the word "Fireworks" and written "Fun" beneath it with a fat-tip black Sharpie.
The article didn’t say he “fired” the “weapon”, they described how it would operate. If he had “fired” it they would have probably filed some kind of charges immediatly or have shot him. I think they’re researching to see if they can charge him with anything.
Over reaction? Then again, it was kind of cool to put fear of God into some of those who frequent the streets late at night looking for “opportunities” to rob and pillage and plunder.
Thanks greatly for posting the link. I hope all FReepers reading this thread view it and realize this whole affair is about guys having fun, especially on the Fourth.
Blatant sexism and harassment of an innocent ‘Ma Deuce”
I wish people would realize that there is some serious practical brain power in the Detroit area. The Detroit Brothers custom chopper builders seem to know every retired engineer in the state.
Today's girls prefer mini-guns.
It’s real de-commissioned 50. There was one at our VFW parade celebration, and there might be a couple of them . Actually they’re used for parades draw a lot of attention. If he fired it probably arrested for some noise ordinance.
He just wanted the guy to get off his lawn.
“Charges of what?”
brandishing, disturbing the peace, impeding a police investigation, they will come up with something
I recently joined MVPA and saw the Oregon thing in the magazine. Maybe another year. I’m going to Oshkosh for the first time this year.
That show would give me a second reason to go to Oregon. I’ve got an aunt and uncle out there that I haven’t seen in a long time.
I love old vehicles, especially military but don’t own any. I have an erratically running 1965 Willys jeep in the carport. Dad has a 5 ton 6x6 sitting in a barn in very good condition.
David remodeled Nugent’s Bronco on GearZ.
Armored vehicle = Legal
Compressed gas noise maker = Legal, and it was July 4th
Noise maker shape of gun = Life in prison!
Was the theme from American Bandstand playing from his vehicle?
“Escape, Escape from Detroit, Detroit”
