My Daddy was Army when they still wore brown shoes, LOL
He was in the South Pacific until I was almost 4, came home and started teaching me to straighten up and walk right right off the bat. I've been staying in step automatically ever since.

The Old Man was SFC I know the drill! It migt be wise to check out the difference, in the U. S. Army, between the rank of CSM (Command Sergeant Major) and SFC (Sergeant First Class).
The gap in function and honors is rather large.
