DAMASCUS, Syria The Syrian regime, which is seeking to crush a more than two-year revolt against its own rule, is urging Egypts president to step down in line with his peoples wishes.
Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi says the only way Egypt can overcome its crisis is if President Mohammed Morsi realizes that the overwhelming majority of the Egyptian people reject his presence and want him out.

On the surface it seems to be hypocrisy on the part of Assad but the coup in Egypt is to replace a jihadist with a secular leader while the revolt in Syria seeks to do the opposite.
Yeah , the Brothers can’t fight on two fronts at the same time, until U.S. supplies arrive.

Morsi, being Muslim Brotherhood, wants Assad out (who is backed by Shi’a Iran, although Assad himself was more secular). It is such a mixed bag of competing groups in the Middle East, although primarily Sunni vs. Shia.
