The Egyptian army has set a deadline of 4 p.m. Cairo time for the Muslim Brotherhood government of President Morsi to compromise with the people of Egypt (by stepping down.) Morsi refuses. 18 people were killed and 200 were wounded in clashes at Cairo University last night.
A Washington Post report from Cairo on dueling statements from Morsi and the army:
Waving his hands and shaking his fists in a 45-minute speech on national television late Tuesday, Morsi swore that he was committed to the democratic process that brought him to power and said that any attempts to subvert the constitution were unacceptable.
The army, in turn, posted a message to its Facebook page saying: We swear to God that we will sacrifice even our blood for Egypt and its people, to defend them against any terrorist, radical or fool.
In his speech, Morsi acknowledged that he had made mistakes during his year in office as Egypts first democratically elected president. But he appealed to Egyptians to give him more time to deal with the countrys problems.

Go down, Obama!
Way down in Egypt's land.
Tell old Morsi.
To let my people go!
with apologies..(g)
That must be what all the women's yelling is about.
For crying out loud.
She’s a monster.
There will be blood.
One report indicated that crowds were cheering enthusiastically as Armored Personnel Carriers were moving towards a pro-Morsi rally.

It is sad but I believe our military would round us up or kill us. I have lost my trust.
She is beyond a monster. She is evil.
Same thing can be said here, just change a few names:
It’s the economy. One of the supposedly compelling arguments to letting the Democrats/Progressives into power was that they’d cause a rainstorm of cash to start falling from the oil rich nations, ending poverty and creating a jobs boom.
A rainstorm of cash did fall - from government reserves and with more than ten billion dollars in loans, and today, in many parts of America, you don’t dare plug in a computer without a fully charged backup battery, you have half a bedroom filled with water bottles to get through the next water outage, and you hope that you can get in good with the Democrats if you want to get a job.
Utter poverty has grown by more than 20% under Obama, and every day the Progressives find another part of American society to condemn and strike down.
Obama promised redistribution of wealth, jobs, less poverty and strong corruption of law. What the people have seen is the Democrats looting the treasury, giving themselves all the jobs, lifting themselves out of poverty, and an ever shifting corruption of the law, and of course, tourism has cratered.
In other words, in 6 years, Obama has managed to turn America into the Palestinian Authority.
Great! Thanks, kristinn.
Here, CNN Amanpour with Morsi’s MB talking about the line of “military coup against a democratically elected president!
Egyptians who saw it are enraged.
Go down, Obama!
