LOS ANGELES -- An elderly man was terrorized on a Metro bus and it was all caught on camera. Another bus rider appears to strike the man and screams at him after the older man accidentally sat on him.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday near Wilshire Avenue and Vermont Boulevard.
"I started filming it for my husband who doesn't realize all the crazy stuff that happens on the bus all the time, and then it got really intense," said Erica Rodriguez, who captured the incident on camera.
Rodriguez says she's not really surprised that no one stepped in to help the man.
"It was definitely scary. I mean, you hear about people on buses with guns all the time in L.A. and it was concerning, but luckily, that didn't happen," said Rodriguez.
The bus finally stopped and most riders got off. Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies say they did get a call about the incident, but say the man was gone by the time they arrived.
While I have no way of verifying it, it did seem to me that at least one woman was attempting to support and even encourage the younger man, and using some very bad language while doing so.
You’re talking about the old video posted in reply. Not this incident.
I was going to say “Raiders fan; big surprise”!
He said 67.
Thanks. I wasn’t sure, and these days I am hesitant to believe in myself. :)
Yes, she even said something like “press charges”. Turns out this pathetic b-itch talking and filming might’ve been his girlfriend. Heard it on the “interviews” with bearded guy. He said she stole his bag.
What’s happening these days is frightening.
I’m an 80 year old woman who still drives but most towns take the elderly on buses to go grocery shopping and the “T’,here in Eastern MA, has a program called The Ride which will take an elderly person anyplace withinthe area for a very small fee.

Good for him. When I am 77 years old I would love to beat the snot of a punk the way that he did. Hooray for the tough old geezer.
I have a friend who believes that anyone over the age of 75 or so should lose his or her license, which has resulted in a number of animated discussions between us.
He’s in remarkable shape, whether he is 67 or 77.
We left L.A. in 2010 for Tennessee. Hubby had to fly in to LAX this morning and drive north to Ventura. He said the people are much more rude and animal-like than they were three years ago. He compared it to some far-out futuristic sci-fi movie.
Lots to love about living in the Bible Belt.
Thank goodness you have a car and drive! I feel for people who must take public transportation. Is the “T” a more private or elderly only ride?

Most of the older drivers I know, and I know many, are self limiting.
I no longer drive after dark and also avoid interstates. My annual mileage is extremely low.

Wrong video. Go to the link at the top of the page.
Actually 67. Fits better being a Viet vet, anyway.
The “T” is public transportation-—trolleys,buses,and trains.
The Ride, which the “T” runs, uses vans. You do have to make an appointment but they will pick you up and drop you off at home. It’s been around for years.

Imho, drivers of any age should be evaluated based on their driving record. My friend and I disagree on that issue. I believe that the older one is, the more wisdom is earned. Does that apply to everyone? Of course not, but it is one of my concerns that in these days respect for maturity has plummeted. We lose so much because of that.
God bless our vets.
That seems much more safe. I hate seeing things like this video!
