WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) The National Cathedral is pealing its church bells, along with some other Washington churches, to celebrate the Supreme Courts decisions on gay marriage.
Cathedral spokesman Richard Weinberg said the bells rang at noon Wednesday for 45 minutes to an hour. Bells also rang at other Episcopal, Methodist, Presbyterian, Unitarian and other Christian churches

I'm wondering if the Russians would take back Alaska, and eastern Washington State where I am.
That's the way I've started writing it, anyway.
They are wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Thank you for the uplifting message, with which I agree. The day has been so depressing it’s been hard to go a minute without wishing I wasn’t even alive to see this stuff go down.
Shutter the windows and write “ICHABOD” above the doorframe.
You know, when I walked into a restaurant today down in the dumps and about ready to jump off a cliff, most of the other customers were smiley and laughing in contrast to me. But I recognize these were not smiles of joy over the decisions: it was just the usual demeanor of low-info type people who may or may not have even heard about the USSC travesty. Many of these folks are pretty much indifferent to the whole thing ("live and let live"). This non-involvement will work to their detriment in the end, if they don't definitively choose the moral ground, but they don't realize that yet.
I didn’t even dare go to Facebook.
And they're running the show.
Clever.
You’d think the 2011 earthquake would have gotten their attention.
I know it’s not right but I am really wanting God to put a smackdown on all these deceivers. I know, Be careful what I ask for with that whole he who is without sin cast the first stone and all that. But dangit I never would have thought churches of all things/people would be celebrating sin and so openly!
It’s like a collective insanity has fallen over the country.
When Jesus describes the end times he uses quite a few adjectives for the people in that time. The strange thing is, you would think there’d be one to describe rampant homosexuality and the reveling in it that’s occuring now. As far as I can remember there isn’t, is there? I know in another place it’s decribed as in the “days of Noah” where they were eating, drinking and marrying...does that mean just going about normal things and so taken unawares with the flood? Or does it allude t something else?
well, most, but not all Baptists — the Netowrk of Baptists, the Alliance of Baptists and the AWA Baptists which include the denominations of the American Baptist Churches in the USA and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship accept gay marriage
The Episcopalians allow their priests to marry
The Episcopalians allow their priests AND priestesses to marry
Maybe I was incorrect...I understood the bells to be celebratory.
Bells ring in good and solemn occassions, such as funerals: “For whom the bell tolls”... hopefully not for America.
Google "without natural affection" on any Bible site. The Apostle Paul speaks quite plainly about this.
Celebrate sin. And those who’s goal is to smash the establishment have gotten a bit closer to their goal.
“Smash the patriarchy”
“Smash monogamy”
Same mantra they’ve had since the 1960s. They are accomplishing their goals.
