Today can only be characterized as an utter debacle for the prosecution in Florida v. Zimmerman. Besides the testimony of a couple of highly professional law enforcement witnesses, the testimony of the the other State witnesses ranged from signing George Zimmermans praises, to acknowledging the utility of following a suspicious person from a distance, to being utterly discredited by razor sharp cross-examination of the defense.

...it hardly seems that a half-dozen recordings of Zimmerman calmly phoning the police precisely as he had been instructed by them can much advance their charges of second degree murder.

The next, shall we say, interesting witness called by the State, and the last witness of the day, was Selene Bahadoor. She was one of the residents of Twin Lakes whose townhouse bordered on the scene of the altercation between Zimmerman and Martin, and who took note of the event as it happened. As such, she was really the first substantive witness to date who would, purportedly, be able to share some direct knowledge of the events as they unfolded.
OMara handled the cross-examination of Bahadoor, and it was very quickly apparent that this person who had promised to be the States star witness of the dayand perhaps of the entire trialwas about to be have her testimony and credibility utterly, indeed humiliatingly, crushed before the jury.
OMara then asked if it would be fair to say that Bahadoor had sympathy for the Martin family. I have sympathy for both families, she answered, somewhat aloof.
But, noted OMara, you liked the Facebook page for the Martin family, but not the Facebook page for the Zimmerman family.

He doesn't note that O'Mara also made Bahadoor admit that she also signed an on-line petition demanding that GZ be prosecuted. O'Mara didn't take the time to additionally show that she was responsible for getting two other people to sign the petition as well -- yesterday.
He has more hilarious tweets on the Prosecution mishaps than Bernie De La Ronda asked leading questions:

That this guy was even arrested much less brought to trial is a joke, but I have no doubt he will be convicted thanks to the soft tyranny will now live under, totally sanctioned by the RINO party by the way, where an admitted foreign born twice unconstitutionally elected communist Kenyan can command his legions to not only railroad a citizen but also threaten said citizens life on a daily basis for simply defending himself.
More evidence that the gubment is out of control and needs to be removed.
I was a little worried about OMara, but he seems to be doing a superb job.
Thanks for the post, and especially the link to Legalinsurrection. Very nice summary of the day’s action, indeed.
One minor point: Is it just me, or does “Diane Smith, Crime Scene Technician, Sanford Police Department” strike other Freepers as looking like a total moron. Something about her facial expression. I’d say that she looks like a retard, if that weren’t so very politically incorrect.
bump for later
Her response style was so obviously over-coached and unnaturally mechanical that I couldn’t even watch it all. Every response was the same: She would take somewhere between 1.5 and 2.0 seconds to drop her head to the microphone, always answer “Yes, that is correct”, pause another 0.5 seconds, look at the jury, and slowly back away from the microphone. That went on for an hour.
[[I was a little worried about OMara]]
I was too- I’d heard how brilliant he was, but wasn’t seeignm uch of it beofere the trial, although we weren’t really privy to much of what was goign on behind hte scenes- the next few days will show what he’s made of though- The opening latwyer for hte defense htrough- WOW- I really hope he doesn’t have much time o nthe floor- maybe he’s good, by wow is he boring- my heart sunk for george after listyenign to him
Damn interesting read . . . the whole thing. The entire case for the state seems to be imploding right before our eyes . . .
it would appear that the prosecutor is simply going along for the ride to keep Capt Hymie Town and Al Shaptongue out of the city?
They know they don't have a case but would rather be able to say " we tried or best" instead of having to deal with the two race pimps inferred to above?
Prosecution is probably going "easy" trying to save city money to use for LEO overtime when the riots start?
Are we going to go by her looks, or her testimony?
She was very sharp, answered questions crisply and clearly, and identified every 'marker' in the photos the Prosecution put on display without any delay or mistake.
Once Zimmerman is acquitted he should sue for malicious prosecution.
And sue the race baiters like Sharpton for libel...
Angela Corey should be dis-barred for bringing this farce case.
OMara is a legal genius ...handling things exactly as he should.... appealing to the jury in quiet expert logic...believable and non aggressive...i’d hire this genius in a minute...
O’Mara did very well today.
One should never prejudge the outcome of a trial until the defense presents its case. In this situation, the defense cross-examinations are going to destroy the prosecution.
It's just you. I thought she was a very professional witness.
O’Mara is kicking ass.
Cutting to the chase here, I can see right now that the prosecution’s only hope and, in fact, entire case, is going to be made in the closing arguments.
And it will come down to this, “If you don’t convict, the streets will explode and it will be your fault.”
I do not know how they will get that message across, but that’s going to be it. Guaranteed.
