A chrome book is under $200.
There are a lot of kids in LA Unified who have never been to the beach, even though it is a few miles away. I think they should actually go somewhere real before they waste time on another gadget.
Oh, well. The dumber LAUSD is, the higher my property value is (in a non-LAUSD city).
What total morons. There is zero educational value in a teenagers iPad. It’s all Skype video calls, Candy Crush and other games, etc. A total waste of money.

As a teacher I don’t even put assignments out on the computer. We use books, thank you very much.
I love computers, but I don’t use them in my class. No electronic devices.
Even the most stupid politicians know the only way to ensure they get their fair share of kickbacks is to spend taxpayer money on stuff they don’t need, and to make sure they build in a generous overepayment.
That way the suppliers have enough excess profits to finance generous payoffs and kickbacks cleverly disguised as legal financial contributions to election campaigns.

My bet is that nearly half of the I-pads will be broken, stolen or sold within the first week. I-pads are great, but putting them in the hands of kids is inviting disaster. Our local school district is trying the same thing and I’m sure there will be similar results with a large number broken, stolen or sold in the first few weeks.
Because, as everyone knows, the only cure for poverty is to give people free stuff. Works every time.
What happens when a kids loses his or gets it stolen?? Who pays for the replacement??
