In that case, can you please provide me the citation for the MTV interview in 1993 where Clinton said the purpose of the government is to reign in people’s rights? I can’t find any listing of a Clinton MTV interview in 1993, but I would love to see the full transcript.

As terrible as Bill Clinton was, both as a person and as a leader, Obama is far worse.

The difference is that Clinton only cared about himself, and was willing to sacrifice the country to his personal interests.

I was able to source this quote when I wrote this piece in 2004, but am unable to find proof of this specific quote now on Google.

However, according to Newsweek Magazine, Bill Clinton WAS interviewed by MTV anchor Tabitha Soren in the oval office, and appeared at an MTV town hall meeting in 1993:

After the success of the town meeting during the campaign, Tabitha [Soren] had more access to the new president than any other journalist. She interviewed him in the Oval Office and Clinton held a second MTV town meeting in 1993, then a third in 1994, which would prove, for obvious reasons, to be his last.

I’ve always been registered as Republican- a decision I made as soon as I was old enough to vote :) I hate Bill Clinton, even to this day. I was teaching civics late in his tenure and he made it impossible to teach high school students about the Presidency without the matter of oral sex being brought up.
