‘Snowden is not the problem’ Palin says
The Daily Caller ^ | June 16, 2013 | Breanna Deutsch and Sarah Harvard

Posted on 06/16/2013 4:38:44 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Sarah Palin energized a group of social conservatives at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority Conference Saturday, blasting the Obama Administration’s apparent lawlessness, calling the current state of America “Orwellian,” and urging the United States to stay out of Syria’s chaotic and brutal civil war.

In comments to the Daily Caller, the 2008 candidate for vice president also declined to join many of her fellow Republicans in condemning National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden, saying the real problem was the government’s violation of Americans’ rights.

In her speech, Palin called the current political atmosphere, rife with scandals, a “a symptom of a bigger disease,” expressing outrage over the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative nonprofits.

“You don’t marginalize everyday, average Americans. Those, who are part of the Tea Party, that want to protect the constitution,” said the former Alaska Governor. “The IRS can’t figure out how it spent $4 million dollars on a training conference because it lost its receipts… really?”

The 2008 GOP Vice-Presidential nominee said President Obama has lost the trust of the American people.

“Like the other day,” she said ”[Director of National Security Intelligence James Clapper] bragging that they used the ‘least untruthful statement.’ Now, where I come from that is called a lie. Yes, the officials lied and government spied — and in Benghazi government lied and Americans died.”(continued)

People helping to advance left wing ideas like a moderated GOP and lesser evils need an abundance of mockery, lest people take them seriously.

Did you serve in the military after 9/11? Because a bunch of old freepers here helped me get back in after an 18 year gap in service, and Jim changed my screen-name for opsec sake.

I put my ass where my mouth was.

Did you?

Here. Just for you on Father’s day. A poem.

Tell me does the Stupid Burn?
I really want to know.
So many excuses that I hear,
Just bouncing to and fro

I hear it’s quite conservative
And rainbows lead the way
In front of tanks and planes and bombs,
To make our soldiers Gay

Likewise today around the right,
Lets make a choice severe,
Abort unwanted children,
Adopt them to a queer!

And what about the guns you own?
What did supporters say?
It truly must be Reaganesque,
To take them all away!

For shame the bitter clingers,
With Bibles by the bed.
Believe instead in Steve and Bob,
Whose right we’ll make to wed.

Such was the choice the GOP,
Bequeathed to us to vote.
Our patriotic duty,
Just hold your nose and choke.

Alas I am not stupid.
I do not feel the burn.
But come election season,
I fear they will not learn.

Another leftist RINO,
Or Democrat they’ll pass
Upon the the right wing public,

Well they can kiss my ass.

The crusades were not atrocities.

I didn’t say they were. or were not...I said they are considered by some to be.

What did you do in the war?

I had "three hots and a cot"! I was in the US Navy, sending 5" 38's into the air as an FT/G. I was in from 66-68, and got that pretty little green and yellow ribbon with the red stripes!! I also earned a purple one with George's pic! I spent a week on a PBR, and got a little scratch from some guy on shore. I wasn't about to wade through the rice paddies, so I VOLUNTEERED (I had a low draft number, so got ahead of the curve!!!)

My post to you guys is that it makes you look foolish to argue with a fool! I courtesy pinged a fool, and got a reply, as well!

Oh, that’s sweet.

Considering I’m a mom.

I’ll see you later, lover-not-a-fighter.

Thank you for your service ;)

The thing is, allowing these people to spread the lesser evil BS has consequenses. People read it on a right win website and on the surface, think ‘we;; it’s conservatives saying that”...without stopping to think about the fact that we have a congress and senate FILLED with the result of their philosophy.

It cannot stand unopposed. As you see, they can’t do anything make sXit up, hurl accusations and divert the issue. Math isn’t hard. Elect a lot of lesser and you get greater evil.

Let one of these people stand up and PROVE that evil in any amount is good. Before anyone reading this asks anything else, they should ask that. Why are these people so egar to keep electing lesser evils instead of working to elect candidates that TRY to do good?

Why must the base accept that?

Instead, we see this thread repeated every day. One defense after another of why we have to invite more evil into the political right.

Ask them why. And ask them why they should work to get evermore of it.

Very well said.

GOP fecklessness/stupidity/incompetence are as much to blame as the enemy for the mess we are in. And things will only get worse when amnesty is passed and debt ceiling raised again later this year, all with GOP complicity.

And the principles/Palin-Cruz contradiction should be clear to everyone reading the comments.

Thank you. IMO the GOP have become every bit the enemy. Actually they are worse than the Dems. The Dems are what they are/have been since Clinton, but the GOP betrayed their party, their base and their country.

And people supporting that are no better.

If you don’t win elections it doesn’t matter.

How has it been better when we won? The best we have had is the illusion of a fight against big government. GW was a record big spender until he paved the way for the biggest spender ever.

Seems to me that under Bush the Patriot Act was meant to spy on terrorists

So they said, I don't think I believe that anymore.

If this was truly a case of civil disobedience, he would be willing to do the time for the crime.

You have to be alive to do time, an unlikely prospect for Snowden considering all the calls for him to be hung. It us a sad day when Bob Beckel makes for sense than the other four.

Brit Hume is the lone talking head on FNC that I have heard ask what crime has he committed?

No, I want to win. Sitting behind a keyboard bitching about it hasn’t gotten us very far.

So, if conservatives support abortion, gun control, homosexual marriage, immigration reform, et-al, we’ll win?

No thanks. I was chastized for saying I would not vote in the 2008 election. I held my nose and voted. It didn’t matter. The same thing happened in 2012. Again, it didn’t matter. I will not vote again regarding national elections until after the phoenix rises from the ashes.

I take very seriously Claire Wolfe’s comment in the book “101 Things to Do Before the Revolution”:

America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system and too early to shoot the basta**s.

Frankly, I now realize the “awkward stage” has been going on for over a decade (if not longer). It just took me a while to realize it. For me it will enter the last stage if I ever need to do it in the form of overt self defense for me and my family. I hope it never comes and it probably won’t, truth be told. I don’t live in a city. But the first 15 minutes of Inglorious Basterds gives me pause regarding just how fine their comb can be.

If you don’t win elections it doesn’t matter.

Gee, going with the centrist RINO worked so well in 2008 and 2012.

Oops, it didn't.

But going with the conservative Tea Party movement was such a disaster in 2010.

Oops, it wasn't.

So please elaborate on the point you are attempting to make here.

There were 8 people in the primaries. All of them would have been better then Obama.

If you don’t win it doesn’t matter how perfect your candidate is.

But you seem to like Obama, thats the point.
