Negative. Inclement weather.
Actually, in our neighborhood, the local Boy Scouts have a fundraiser. For a donation of about $50 a year, they will put a flag up in your yard on all the major flag holidays.
It is nice to see the neighborhood lined with flags on the holidays. And nice to see so much support for the scouts.
Yes, I am flying my flag. I did give serious thought to flying it upside down, though.
I fly my flag every day — lighted — 24/7. I’ve noticed that in the subdivision next door to my 50 year old house, new neighbors have also erected a flag pole; and their banner also flies 24/7. Looks good. Being “up the hill” slightly, my pole is a little taller.
I put out my flag today, so the Google cams can drive by and confirm the locations of all the patriots.
HELLO NSA. I’M FLYING THE AMERICAN FLAG.
I honor those who died for it, but I’m not flying it.
Bing is, G**gle is not.
I see that once again GOOGLE has ignored Flag Day.
Thanks for the reminder. I too have considered flying it upside down.
However I remember something I read once about a ships at war. Allegedly, the flag is flown from the highest spar as a signal to all other ships to steer clear unless you want to engage.
My flag is flown quite high today!
flying 20th Maine regimental colors. od course none of my neighbors have a clue. would like to find a 2nd Massachusetts regimental flag.
Not yet.
Anyone have a source for a Made In America sewn (not printed) star flag?
High quality only. I hate the printed garbage from China.
:-)
Links to sites for purchase would be appreciated! Thanks....
Does the day end with a Y? Then I’m flying my flag. Sometimes it’s red, white and blue, sometimes it’s yellow with a snake on it.
I use Facebook to keep in contact with family. My profile pic carries the flag today. I cannot put one up in this apartment complex.
Every day 24/7 and yes it is lighted.
A flag has been flying by the front door since the Iranian hostage crisis. It has been replaced with a new one many times. It flies with more meaning these days, tho.
I’m flying two flags on my dock—the American Flag on top and the Fort Moultrie Flag right underneath—and I do so every day.
Lot’s of folks stop and ask about the latter. After I explain the significance of it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moultrie_Flag), they ask where they can get one: www.ultimateflags.com.
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
But should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Yep
Yep.
