I deeply appreciate that day in and day out Mark Levin takes on the Republican establishment. I'm encouraged that he has called out Paul Ryan and others for their disingenuous support of this 1000+ page immigration bill.
It is far past time he call out Marco Rubio, who it he face of this bill. I think if he is going to be sincere on this issue, he needs to highlight the main reason this bill has a chance of becoming law, and that reason is Marco Rubio.
What’s with all the Freeper feuding today? I was called a troll a few weeks ago too.
Several posters have an issue with me over Romney, the ‘lesser evil” thing and it follows from thread to thread. For the others, I think now that the rubber hit the road, many psuedocons are outing themselves lately as more conservatives are wising up to the lies we have been fed.
I was called a troll for revealing I live in China and occassionally telling readers that not all Chinese living in China are so-called Chicoms. However, I’m a pragmatist on foreign policies and lean towards Ron Paul on these matters.
I recall our first serious debate that concerned support for Romney in 2012. I argued the pragmatic pros, and you obviously didn’t. I was more perplexed than frustrated by the refusal to support Romney, but things began to make sense over time. You were not the only FReeper I engaged on the matter.
I’m married, I’ve worked extensively with musicians, and also engineers. I know what it means to disagree, and also appreciate the opposing view. There’s latitude in engineering, music, and sometimes marriage, but not that much in morality. And it’s the conflicts in morality that’s makes our blood boil on principle.
I need a clear head to comment on homos in a way I won’t regret — if that’s possible.
For anyone reading and wondering about this support/doesn’t support issue....ponder this bit of fiction.
Normie and Rush/Sean/Levin were sitting round the burned out shell of a car as behind them, the last of the echoes of gunfire rang out in the distance.
Following the disastrous immigration reform bill, the US economy crashed under the burden of over 50 million now legals flooding over the border.
“Why did this happen? It wasn’t supposed to be this way,” said the Constitutional scholar who should have known better.
“How did we not see this?” asked the NYC Fox host who ignored his audience?
“Why wasn’t this nipped in the bud when the GOP had the chance?” Queried the Radio talk show legend that made so many excuses.
Because you put the needs of your friend over those of your country, replied the only one left.
I worked with a first-gen American of Chinese descent. The guy was American as apple pie; a truly wonderful person. Come to think of it, I know more than one...
Seriously, it’s about human values. Our sense of Conservatism is not limited to the West, but it’s not generally welcome either.
Well that Romney thing was a tricky issue. But he lost and we got to move forward on that. I was not a Romney fan but when he became a GOP nominee I publicly supported him. However when I look back on it, it’s better he lost. Now Americans are seeing new Obama scandals emerge and in a few months or even years, they’ll begin to lose hope in their Messiah and the Democrat Party. If Romney won the White House I’m certain we would be complaining everyday he’s a bonehead RINO.
It’s the same, damn decorum that’s killing us in Congress.
True and there are many Chinese who despise Obama.
I guess they know who will be the nominee for 2016. Maybe they prefer Marco over Christie. Someone should question Rubio’s word and motives though. It’s becoming difficult to watch the people in the media make him out to be the greatest man of our life time; because he really really cares about the illegals who are asking for legal status. Not amnesty, they say. We already have Barrack Hussein Obama that no one can say one thing negative about him. Now we are making Rubio into that kind of character. I think we need to be careful. If Rush, Levin, Bachmann and others are saying the bill would be the end of the country, then why is it that the republicans continue this. The insiders (Jeb Bush) is saying to Politico that he is proud of the bill. Bush rino lets get along wing versus the conservatives.
>> I look back on it, its better he lost.
That was a fate I was willing to accept.
I’m a stubborn ox. It’s taken me a lifetime to appreciate the flow of things that are not obviously bad.
Semi related story from old job
Anyway, we had a man at the office from that corner of the globe. I was then reading the Communist Manefisto/Little Red Book and Marx. The books were on my desk as research into dealing with environMENTALists.
He totally went off on me screaming “Do you know how many people those books killed?”
Fortunately he was able to not physically attack me before others explained to him why they were there.
Nope. Many good people there. And far from communists.
Yikes!
That troll “Norm” said he was posting “fiction”, and it sure was! However... in his silly fictional story he is apparently referring to Rush (”Radio talk show legend that made so many excuses”) and Levin (”Constitutional scholar”), but since Rush and Levin both hate the immigration bill and have relentlessly warned about the dire consequences for America if it is passed the references are clearly little more than the little sneak’s attempt at trolling again.
“Made so many excuses”, lol! I knew I’d sniff out that troll.
He’s never listened to Rush in his life.
I’ll never claim to be perfect. I am FAR far from it. But to me, well, Granny made ‘understanding’ right and wrong pretty easy.
I think a lot of people just automatically fall on pragmatism as an excuse (general comment directed at no one in particular) and it leaves them an escape for hard decisions. Sausage over bacon when Sausage in the fridge and the bacon is still on the pig is a pragmatic decision. Voting for a man you KNOW stands as the ultimate example of a liberal Republican to replace the ultimate example of a liberal Democrat?
Yea, that’s a hard one and I admit it. But at what price do you kick the can when the repub will ABSOLUTELY tale you down the Democrat road?
Solomon/split babies comes to mind.
Again, general comment.
Strange the liberty we fight for is framed as a constraint by those that thrive on controlling others.
Third lie. Fourth actually. You smell the stench of your liberalism.
Ps, did rush try repeatedly to steer his software exec down a different path today or not? How many times?
How would I even know to ask had I not listened to the show?
See? You lie.
“ince Rush and Levin both hate the immigration bill and have relentlessly warned about the dire consequences for America if it is passed”
And then called the man about to wreck their their country their friend and a true conservative....
Definitely not interested in fiddling with Solomon’s baby splitting.
Nope. Me either.
