My wife Martie often tells me, Joe, you eat too fast! Slow down and enjoy your meal. Im usually done long before she is, because she takes the time to savor every bite.
I wonder how many of us rush through reading Gods Word without really savoring it. The psalmist said about it, How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (Ps. 119:103). That sounds good to me!
What are the benefits of delighting in the rich food of Scripture? A daily meal of Gods Word helps to keep anxiety, pride, fear, and temptation from plaguing our undernourished hearts, and strengthens us for a victorious journey. The Word gives us wisdom and understanding (vv.98-100). And it helps restrain our feet from evil (v.101). Just as our digestive system distributes nutrients to our bodies, Gods Word, when digested, nourishes our minds, our emotions, and our will.
Rather than grabbing the Word on the run just before dashing out the door, its important to read it at a time and in a place where we can really fellowship with God.
Take the time and enjoy savoring the richness of Gods Word.

My brother, now deceased , spent time at Ft. Gordon, early 60s.. was a 101st Screamin’ Eagle,, then he took out a gate at Ft. Benning going in from the outside, under the influence , he got banged up bad, no one else was hurt,, years later, his fiance would drive his 1976 dodge monaco convert smack dab into a street lamp post shortly before the wedding, she was ok, no airbags in them days but the car was totaled.. .. the soon to be bride turned out fine and they had a few kids anyway.. good uns..

I was at Fort Gordon from 27 September to 2 December 1971 for the Signal Officers Basic Course before going off to my duty assignment with the 58th Signal Battalion at Fort Lewis, WA.
Spent a couple of months at Ft. Gordon for my AIT back when I was an 05B back in the early 80’s. It was work, but kinda fun.
Great road trip, Lauren! After getting back from yet another one! :)
How’s the “project” coming along?
Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...meds working yet?
Hope you got your new flowers in today.
I haven’t had time to breathe today. And a few of us have had no email since before noon. It is driving me nuts.
