WASHINGTON -- What can people do to protect their privacy from massive data-mining efforts by U.S. and other intelligence services? The answer is not much, short of going off the grid completely.

Oh look.
An article written by an idiot journalist without a basic grasp of technology.
Hence my belief that the NSA is in violation of the 3rd Amendment. Since electronic communications are the standard of the day, it could be stated that the government is, in effect, requiring us to quarter soldiers in our homes. If they can snoop on us, activate the webcameras on our computers, turn on the microphones on our phones, all without our knowledge, then I believe this is no different than have a soldier bedded down in our guest room for the same purpose: to spy on us.
Or we could take big brother out at the knees.
Hit it right on the nail!
Public Service Time: PRISM, Government Snooping, and what YOU can do about it. . .
I believe you are correct. I wonder if our courts will see it the same way. If looking at the original purpose of the limits of government, there is no way a justice can say that it would be permissible to track every action, word, purchase, communication, etc.
Looking at it purely from a political perspective, how can a candidate ever participate in a fair campaign again. How can a campaign chairman communicate with their team on a campaign message over the phone or email? The government in real time will act in it’s own interest to use that information to protect itself from any individual or group who wants to limit government.
We have multiple departments demonstrating that they will use their capabilities for political action in just this calendar year.
Dismantle the central government and reform it with very, very few powers, and extensive chains forged from historical examination of how we got where we are.
You mean, like some document? How about a Constitution??
It’s hard to accept the reason that the Constitution failed to contain the fedgov... it’s the people.
It’s the turning from God and becoming our own gods in our own minds. It’s the acceptance of the Genesis 3 lie that WE can determine what is right and what is wrong. It’s the thinking that a nation can be made righteous through laws, and not through the changed hearts of the people.
And Apple keeps wanting me to use the I-cloud.
And that's the rub. If ANYONE thinks that 2014 is going to result in a Republican sweep, I've got some swampland I'd like to sell them.
I believe in overwhelming their servers and logic.
Have you seen my fully automatic ricin laced pressure cooker terrorist presidentially targeted basselope?
Neither have I!

Good luck with that. The systems they’re using are nearing the level of “quantum.”
I think it is to late, they own us, only if Americans change their services by the millions and take a stand against the IRS will this issue maybe, be slowed down,
Live off the grid, join together and refuse to buy what you don’t have to, what if the masses didn’t show up to work on Monday morning or one day a week refuse to buy gas, make sacrifices, stay home.
Or
No one paid their taxes, what if millions of people canceled their internet and cell phones?
Finding other means of communication.
yep to remain unnoticed go off the grid.
Finding other means of communication.
why?
ah, don't give zer0 the satisfaction.
The failure started w/ Lincoln, then Teddy and BIG time w/ Wilson(who just took the ball and RAN).
You can’t tell me there was less of church and God then as there is today? No. The People, then, let gov’t get away from them...giving what we have today.
yep, that is the best way to make the list. Speak the word Constitution.
or type the words Firearms, God, Country, the Church, FBI, or any other three letter alphabets, including the lame-stream, and a whole host of other words or alphabets. LOL, for it is the way of the zer0 intelligentsia crowd.
