Two government officials have admitted that as many as 50 American companies are now feeding the analysts at the National Security Agency with real-time user data, including credit rating agencies and internet service providers. Some of the companies have been cooperating since 2006. What the NSA calls "domestic collection" is data that originates in the U.S. One of the officials said, "The idea is to create a mosaic. We get a tip. We vet it. Then we mine the data for intelligence." Director of National Intelligence James Clapper defended the practice, stating that programs collect communications "pursuant to section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, " and "cannot be used to intentionally target any U.S. citizen, any other U.S person, or anyone within the United States."
Clapper was furious at the leaks surrounding the NSAs practices, calling them "reprehensible" and arguing that the program "is among the most important" sources of "valuable" intelligence information.
One official explained that the NSA has to use various collection tools. PRISM is valued because it can handle disparate types of data streams using different basic encryption methods. PRISM works with another NSA program to encrypt and remove from the analysts' screen data from someone not regarded as the target of investigation....

How competent is the NSA, if it can’t even keep its own secrets?
It’s really not much different than the cleanmypc stuff. They’re charging for stuff that you can do better.
Also, the carbonite talk on here was relevant. Don’t store too much data on any cloud service for God’s sake! Back it up to a truecrypted or bitlocker’d drive. Anything that goes up to any servers will always be open to both the company and the government. I do not trust any cloud service to truly encrypt data if I send it to them. And if they even try, I don’t trust them to do it right.
Maxine was the first to pimp on Obama about this.
We thought she was kidding.
Just what we need .The CBC and Obama with info on us all.
Obama9s fingerprints are all over the IRS scandal. If this admin will use the IRS to get back at conservatives how are we supposed to believe they are not doing the same with the DOJ, NSA, FBI and others=
The Whistle blower says that they can see everything, all electronic communication is open to review.
I wonder if Obama had access to every email, text, phone call, debate and speech prep, strategy session that the Romney campaign was discussing?
If I had the time and resources I could. But for the price, Life Lock is worth it. I don’t use 3rd party backup services though.

“I wonder if Obama had access to every email, text, phone call, debate and speech prep, strategy session that the Romney campaign was discussing?’
Yes.
Not gonna say much more, but they are shady and deal with shady 3rd parties.
Never mind; we all knew that these days the Bill of Rights isn’t worth the parchment it’s printed on.
Well keep it to yourself since I am sure it is earth shattering. I find them to be first rate and couldn’t care less what you think. I’m not going to say much more since it might cause you to reveal what they did to a friend of your cousin’s best friend’s neighbor’s sister who lives in another state on a fixed income.
