Two government officials have admitted that as many as 50 American companies are now feeding the analysts at the National Security Agency with real-time user data, including credit rating agencies and internet service providers. Some of the companies have been cooperating since 2006. What the NSA calls "domestic collection" is data that originates in the U.S. One of the officials said, "The idea is to create a mosaic. We get a tip. We vet it. Then we mine the data for intelligence." Director of National Intelligence James Clapper defended the practice, stating that programs collect communications "pursuant to section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, " and "cannot be used to intentionally target any U.S. citizen, any other U.S person, or anyone within the United States."
Clapper was furious at the leaks surrounding the NSAs practices, calling them "reprehensible" and arguing that the program "is among the most important" sources of "valuable" intelligence information.
One official explained that the NSA has to use various collection tools. PRISM is valued because it can handle disparate types of data streams using different basic encryption methods. PRISM works with another NSA program to encrypt and remove from the analysts' screen data from someone not regarded as the target of investigation....

They missed the Boston Bombers.
Tsarnaev brothers had public YouTube and FaceBook account.
That tells us that the purpose is not to secure the US.

I wonder about LifeLock as well.
Very good point!
What about the free officespreadsheet apps from Sun and IBM. I use them, but now really wonder what has been submitted to those prying eyes and ears!
Lifelock simply does nothing. It’s a complete waste.
Seems to me that the only ones they’re able to stop are the stupid “terrorists” dumb enough to buy fake explosives from the feds
Indianapolis, home of fascism?
That reminds me of the author that Beck interviewed recently. He wrote about IBM and the Holocaust. Chilling.
The breitbart article didn’t specify which 50. I’d like to know WHICH 50.
Hey NSA, Obama is an illegal immigrant, Marxist who wants to destroy the USA in ways Osama could not. Check it out or go home.
Legal Shield has the best identity theft program.
She’s real. I saw her interviewed on some talk show not that long ago. Pretty young girl.
And the Russians sending us info on them. I guess the NSA needed a dozen roses and a hand written card from Putin.

That deserves a picture.
Thanks. Will check it out.
They have stopped new accounts being set up using my identity by ID thieves 5 times over the past 8 years. In addition to the 5 times once I got alerted when it was me setting up a new account. It works and I’m glad I have there service.
I thought there was a bright red line. NSA is only allowed to spy on non-US entities. It was a big deal to expand that to where one end of the conversation could be in the U.S. And that needed to be signed off by a judge. Albeit in an expedited manner.
The next question is why was it secret? So the bad guys wouldn’t know? Then shut it down now. I’ll take the risk.
Since it is only Muslims waging this war against us, they shouldn’t be only Muslims they are watching? Since they are watching everyone, then it is not for the War on Terror. It is for power purposes. To gain or retain it.
