Very good questions, sefarkas.
No I don't. But then I don't like giving out my income data, my medical data, the interest payments on my house ...
NSA hasn't threatened me lately. Neither has the IRS. But being a Freeper is much more likely to draw the attention of the latter than the former. The IRS is the current winner of the Biggest Threat to Our Freedom award for 2013. The NSA isn't even in second place.
I am not convinced that the metadata collected is limited to the described data points.
...and they want us to believe the NSA database isn't abused! HAHAHAHAHA!

I think it's interesting that the moslem has any credibility AND is on the Intel Committee.
See, guys, this teensy cut-out on the 4th Amendment (MW:”everything on everybody”) is easily explained away!
(Besides, they’re bleeding us dry on ammo—”Keep plinking!,” they’ll say—and they’ll take care of all the gun dealers and stores that sell arms lickety split, too.)

If the phone mining worked, why did they spend a week trying to find the Tea Party terrorist when a phone detonated the bomb?
The reason is they were not looking for Islamic terrorists.
PRay for America to Wake Up
Pray for America to Wake Up
That has been my concern too. I posted this on another thread:
I have a concern about this whole NSA thing and maybe it is off base. Of all the "scandals" that are emerging, this is the one that seems to be getting the most attention of the MSM. They are tracing it back to 9/11 and the Bush administration. It also seems to be awakening the ire of other countries and labeling the US as a cyber bully and hurting the reputation of the US. This actually seems to be something that Obama would LOVE to have happen, which makes me wonder whether this was a planned leak.
Is the type of information they are collecting analogous to noting that a bunch of planes are flying in a certain direction, but you have no idea who is on them or what their intent is. Just that something curious is happening. How intrusive is that degree of watchfulness? At what point do we say "You have gone too far?"
Yes. I get that the data might archived so when a terrorist is identified his connections could be be screened, but why does the government have to be the repository? Why couldnt they contract with Verizon, ATT, etc. to have archives and then go to them with a search warrant?
In a “hot pursuit” the cops might be able to search all houses on a single block if the situation is such that the suspect could be inside any one of a finite number of them.
Issues like “probable cause” and what is “reasonable” come into play even when shots are being fired. It’s ludicrous to imagine that the govt MUST have ownership of all communications records in relatively passive situations—it’s what communist dictators like Ceaucescu in Romania tried when he tried to tap all the nation’s phones. Even he didn’t get away with it back then.

The underpinning presumption of the constitution and bill of rights is that it would be for a “moral people,” as Adams said. It doesn’t work in the hands of Bolsheviks like Obama and his crew. It’s too easily manipulated or circumvented as the case may be.
You missed my point. We have a much larger problem than the IRS or any other federal agency. It is big government. They are conducting orchestrated attacks per the example I cited. It is no coincidence that multiple agencies go after the same target at the same time.
The public sector unions are supporters of Obama, including the federal employee unions. They have become partisan giving Obama the vast majority of donations plus endorsing him. They are willingly helping him even if it clearly violates the laws and regulations. Leaking donor lists is a felony.
I worked for the USG for 36 years. Your confidence in NSA and the other intel agencies is seriously misplaced. I will leave it at that.
We will see. I just know that the Dems are better organized and funded. nd the changing demographics of this country will make it that much more difficult.
Don’t ever underestimate the Obama machine, which will do anything to win, legal and illegal. Taking back the House in 2014 is his most important objective and the only impediment to transforming this country forever. Obama wants it so bad he can taste it. I shudder to think what he will do to achieve his objective.
Misspellings are purposeful. I hope you understand that. Atlas Shrugged Part 2 really seems like today.
Pray, pray, pray, plead, pray, plead.
Pray hard and expectantly.
0bama and the 25 or so presidents have no one to hold them accountable, and, if 0bama were to let H0lder go you know hed threaten to talk, so thats why no one will be let go. Also, if 0bama and his inner circle Marzists can blackmale R0berts (and you know they did), then any of our side are good and scared since their phone conversations and emails are in their hands.

Look, I have a little experience with these guys myself and I will also (mostly) leave it at that.
They are no angels to be sure. And your point about the coordination of multiple agencies is certainly correct. But I have seen no evidence surface that would show that NSA is participating on any significant scale in that coordination. But the rest of the alphabet soup of D.C. Agencies have already been shown to be working in coordination, at least against the Tea Party and other Conservative organizations.
But NSA? I'm still waiting for some hard evidence that they are using their data in a way harmful to Americans. I recognize that they could. But if they did then someone should flag the example. My reading of Snowden is that he talks to the opportunity for NSA to do bad things. I think we need more than that.
Here is his 12 1/2 minute interview from Hong Kong.

Seems to have the best intentions, but since media wants to axe anyone who may make O look bad, he will be considered an immediate bad guy.
Bradley Manning is “cool” however.
NSA is just an information gatherer for others. It will supply whatever information is requested. I have used their material. The point is that they have the capability to acquire and process huge amounts of data. NSA doesn't have to be engaged in the actual targeting of groups and individuals. They just have to supply the information to those who will.
Thanks for the link. “Turnkey tyranny.” Snowden has a way with words.
So those who work in the fields are penalized and those who don't work and collect benefits are rewarded. :)
They’ve gone WAY too far, IMO. See Paleobob’s post 250 (below yours).
