Deputy defense minister: This government will block any two-state deal (Israel)

Israel’s ruling party and the governing coalition are staunchly opposed to a two-state solution and would block the creation of a Palestinian state if such a proposal ever came to a vote, Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon said, contradicting statements by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior cabinet members who say Jerusalem is committed to the principle of two states for two peoples.

Danon’s statements, made Wednesday to The Times of Israel in his first major interview with an Israeli news outlet since he became deputy minister, underline the low likelihood of the current government being able to sign a peace agreement with the Palestinians.

How about Palestinians getting their land from Saudi Arabia or Syria, that is a better solution.

Fact is nobody wants these children of dogs anywhere around them.

The Palis don’t want a ‘two-state solution’ either. They want it ALL!.........

I was holding out for a four-state fix. Guess that will never happen... darn.

They’d be crazy not to want the one state fix.

I think Israel would be crazy to settle for it.

Remember, the reason they have two areas, is because there was too much terrorism when they were mixed in together.

Why would Israel want to go back to that?

I guess it would technically be a one state solution if Israel administered the West Bank and Gaza. So that type of a one state solution could work I suppose. Some Arabs support this idea, from what I understand.

The reason is simple.
If the Palis accept a two-state, or even a three-state solution, then they will have internationally recognized borders, and that means they can never claim any more land from Israel. This is not their objective. They want ALL of Israel, not just the West Bank and Gaza............

I agree. That’s why I can’t see Israel wanting a one state solution.

In a one-state solution, the palis will simply outbreed the Jews, and gain power over the state via election.

That was my take too. That and the fact that all they would have to do is make a few alliances with sympathetic groups and pro Israel votes would cease to occur.
