On Wednesday, Kathleen Troia “K.T.” McFarland, a former national security aide to Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, claimed that United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice is being promoted to National Security Advisor in order to shield her from congressional scrutiny over her role in the response to the Benghazi attacks.
“I figure that was the payback for Benghazi,” McFarland said of Rice’s promotion to NSA on Wednesday. “The fact that she carried the administration’s water – carried it very badly, I might say – but carried it.”

“Obviously, they have a close, personal relationship,” noted Fox News Channel anchor Martha MacCallum. “You’ve stood by me all these years and this is a position where you’ll be protected, as you say. You won’t have to answer questions anymore.”
McFarland agreed. She said that Rice, “conveniently,” no longer has to testify before Congress relating to what she knew about Benghazi and can invoke executive privilege if asked to testify.
In a post on Fox News.com, McFarland repeated her theory. “By appointing Rice to NSA job means she can invoke executive privilege and doesn’t have to testify on Capitol Hill,” she wrote. “And she will certainly be a loyal soldier if she is now sitting 40 yards from the Oval Office.”

Susan Rice should not be allowed to skate on anything. Neither should Valerie Jarrett.
Drag Rice into the hearing room, and let her make the Lois Lerner defense for the record.
Then remind the public that this woman is the new National Security Advisor, charged with keeping them safe.
Rice is a stooge.
I’m not even sure they want to do that. I don’t even know why someone would want power if they have no intent on using it, not even for justice. I don’t see why they want it, and I can no longer see why they need it.
All they are is enablers. Except for Ted Cruz. But the rest of them are absolutely useless to everyone except democrats.
Don’t just blame Obama. The GOP House committee’s have had 8 months
to drag her ass in front of committee’s under oath. It has become clear to
me, that the GOP wants to show enough outrage to pacify conservatives,
but not enough outrage to find the truth or make hacks pay a price. I don’t know
why we keep giving the GOP our votes and power, when they piss it away.

I don’t see it either but KT McFarland has been in the National Security field for 3 administrations and so I think she knows what she’s talking about and in fact she was the only one that brought it up today

I keep waiting for Issa the Great to get back around to recalling Mizz Lerner before his committee as he said he would, not that it matters, because nothing would come of it anyway.
But it’s like how many days are you going to let slide by without holding anyone accountable or do anything of any consequence whatsoever? This is absolutely ridiculous.
I have lost all respect and have no regard whatsoever for the GOP.

That’s frustrating and I hope it’s just double-speak that one has to say in public. But even if its true, how can one make sure this doesn’t happen again unless one finds out the WHOLE TRUTH and who said or did what on that night and subsequently afterwards?

This is the first thing that came to my mind this AM. KT confirmed my thoughts.
We should keep our eyes on all parties involved. There are multiple reasons for these moves. Rice testifying before congress is just one.
Even AQ is claiming it was a kidnap op.
If the GOP lets all of this slide then when the Republican gets in there and does the same things, the dems will throw them all in jail. Why can’t for once, the Repubs be tough as the dems.
