Fox Analyst: Obama Elevated Susan Rice To Position Where She ‘Doesn’t Have To Testify’ On Benghazi

On Wednesday, Kathleen Troia “K.T.” McFarland, a former national security aide to Presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan, claimed that United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice is being promoted to National Security Advisor in order to shield her from congressional scrutiny over her role in the response to the Benghazi attacks.

“I figure that was the payback for Benghazi,” McFarland said of Rice’s promotion to NSA on Wednesday. “The fact that she carried the administration’s water – carried it very badly, I might say – but carried it.”

“Obviously, they have a close, personal relationship,” noted Fox News Channel anchor Martha MacCallum. “You’ve stood by me all these years and this is a position where you’ll be protected, as you say. You won’t have to answer questions anymore.”

McFarland agreed. She said that Rice, “conveniently,” no longer has to testify before Congress relating to what she knew about Benghazi and can invoke executive privilege if asked to testify.

In a post on Fox News.com, McFarland repeated her theory. “By appointing Rice to NSA job means she can invoke executive privilege and doesn’t have to testify on Capitol Hill,” she wrote. “And she will certainly be a loyal soldier if she is now sitting 40 yards from the Oval Office.”

As bad as the IRS scandal can become, I'm fully convince now that Benghazi is the big one, whether it was kidnapping for the Shiek or weapons-running or whatever else....they are really frightening about letting whatever it is get out

The POTUS gets to hire the NSA at his own discretion as it's an ‘adviser’ position not the head of anything (she took care of him so this is the return).

My thoughts on this is how Defense, war, national security is the only thing RINOs McCain and Grahamnesty bark about Obama. They agree with him on most other issues : guns, taxes, amnesty....

But this appointment shows what a failure or scam they are running. Their sole issue with Obama and he pokes them in the eye with this with no repercussions to him. Obama is 100% safe with McCain and Grahamnesty on the beat.

Very much worse! "Justice" and the IRS are in concert systematically destroying our Constitutional rights on a quotidian basis, but Obama himself is in the vanguard destroying our national security, and the military that stands between the common citizen and the eradication of those rights, and all of the Freedoms we enjoy.

As world-weary and cynical as I may be at this advanced age, I still harbor hopes that the Truth will out. They made a major mistake going after the AP and particularly Rosen. There are still some real journalists of integrity in this Nation and I think the Golfer-in-Chief may have just socked the Tar Baby.
