Poor forest management is also responsible for the Rocky Mountain Pine beetle outbreak and high fire danger.

Millions of acres are covered with dead trees...the bark beetle...the forest service decided years ago to do nothing...so it will all burn up..no logging ... equals no roads.. private forest lands have been logged and reforested..

I wonder who put out all the fires on the planet before we had little Tommy Tidwells running around in their forest ranger suits. No. I’ve never seen a brontosaurus pee.

The problem is the lefts aversion to logging.
No logging and no forest management to speak of means lots of dry undergrowth. Our forests are turning into impenetrable tinder boxes.
Enviros are screaming for renewable fuels. Guess what: wood is one.
They love trees. So do I, but I know trees are PLANTS.
Plants are meant to be eaten, like a carrot, or used for building material or fuel. Not wasted, but used appropriately.
Cut down a tree and 40 years later (+/- depending on latitude) there is another tree ready to cut down.

Forest Dis-Service is probably more correct.

Climate change was a key driver of those bigger, more explosive fires.

This is a total lie. These "bigger more explosive fires" are due to one thing and one thing only ----> forestry management who purposely promote the passing of regulations that increase the amount of fuel for those fires.

You pass enough laws that make it illegal to remove fallen branches and prevent the thinning out of trees and nature will do it for you via a strike of lightning.

Want to put teenagers to work? Pay them minimum wage and get then to clean up forests and build fire breaks in areas that are fire prone. FDR had the CCC camps remember? Where’s Obama?

Environmentalists are responsible for wildfires. It is their policies that have created over-populated forests with over-grown underbrush.

Some years ago, a California company had a design and were building a prototype firefighting airship when they went bankrupt. Their idea was sound.

An airship can carry a relatively enormous payload of water, and unlike aircraft and helicopters, they do not have to drop it all at once, but could “rain out” either a fire area or a fire break, for as long as an hour.

Likewise it could descend a wire steerable firehouse to hit hotspots. It could even potentially use high expansion fire fighting foam. This would use a chute-like hose to spray gobs of foam over a large target, like buildings.

Each year that we do not have a fleet of such airships costs just the western US hundred of millions of dollars from wildfires.

“America’s wildfire season lasts two months longer than it did 40 years ago and burns up twice as much land as it did in those earlier days because of the hotter, drier conditions produced by climate change, the country’s forest service chief told Congress on Tuesday.”

I would like to see the temperature and moisture charts to back up what he is saying. Increased fire damage and burn seasons probably have more to do with Smokey the Bear burn policies, and reduced grazing on forest and wilderness land. Land usage in forest and wilderness areas is way down. There are fewer trails and roads. Fires that once burned out quickly, or were put out quickly, have more fuel to sustain them.

And here I thought it was people. Because those commercials have “Smokey The Bear” keep saying 9 out of 10 forest fires are caused by people . Is Smokey The Bear lying ? Our government wouldn’t let Smokey The Bear lie would it ?

Failure to cut sufficient timber, leaving all of our forests densely overgrown is a huge part of the cause of the big fires.

Roadless regulations are the rest of the story.

CO already has fire bans in place after outlawing standard capacity magazines for visitors from other states (CO residents “all grandfathered in”). No campfires, grills or recreational use of firearms. Authorities are all set and have started their revenues-gathering engines (big prison industry to accommodate out-of-state visitors after gathering revenues from them).

Despite the weird rumors that often fly, most forest fires are caused by lightning, BTW.
