A tea party witness from Alabama launched into emotional testimony Tuesday as she described her group’s political abuse at the hands of the Internal Revenue Service.
“We peacefully assemble. We petition our government. We exercise the right to free speech. And we don’t understand why the government tried to stop us,” Wetumpka Tea Party President Becky Gerritson said during her opening statement before the House Ways and Means Committee.
“I’m not here at as a serf or a vassal,” she went on, beginning to choke up. “I’m not begging my lords for mercy. I’m a born-free American woman, wife, mother and citizen.”

The first time was bad. I considered it a mistake, a terrible mistake but deserved. McLame lost because he earned it.

Becky Gerritson, President of Wetumpka Tea Party in Alabama, gave emotional and powerful testimony this morning during a hearing on how the IRS allegedly targeted her organization.
Gerritson spoke of demands asked of her 'tiny group' by the agency, including detailed contents of every speech ever given by someone involved in the Tea Party branch, copies of any communication sent to any member of a legislative body, including her own representatives, and the list goes on.
Gerritson fought back tears as she pointed her finger at the members of Congress sitting before her, saying of her group, "[we] had no party affiliation ... It didn't matter ... the only notion expressed was that our representative government had failed us." "In Wetumpka, we are patriotic Americans; we peacefully assemble; we petition our government; we exercise our right to free speech. We don't understand why the government tried to stop us. I'm not here as a serf or a vassal. I'm not begging my lord for mercy. I'm a born-free American woman, wife, mother, and citizen, and I'm telling my government that you've forgotten your place."
She called the IRS' demands a "willful act of intimidation to discourage a point of view" and "un-American."
Gerritson again became choked up as she concluded her statement, saying, "I'm not interested in scoring political points. I want to preserve and protect the America that I grew up in. The America that people crossed oceans and risked their lives to become a part of, and I'm terrified it's slipping away. Thank you very much."

The second point was just as much a non-choice as the first... in fact, I've come to believe the reason McCain was selected as the Republican candidate was (a) the democrats could win [i.e. handing them the victory], but even if that failed (b) John McCain's circumstances of birth could be used to weaken the Constitutional constraints on the Presidency anyway.
The Romney/Obama was much the same, but even more insidious [IMO] -- even if Romney had won (a) would there be any incentive for Republican congressmen to "hold his feet to the fire" [NO!], (b) would the ObamaCare waivers have done any good [No! They would be used to blackmail the states; "do what I say or I'll rescind your waiver."], and (c) Romney is a socialist (and statist) and would continue to strengthen/cultivate those tendencies in the executive branch.

These “witnesses” need to be instructed. In their testimony before congress, they should end with...
“Mr. Chairman, I yield and RESERVE MY RIGHT TO REBUTTAL.” Once the communist piss-ant puts into question the integrity or cerdibility of the witness, give them BOTH BARRELS so that it is on the record.
Don’t expect ABCNNBCBS to even mention it on the evening shows...........

I agree. After watching her testimony on Youtube, the biggest mistake the liberals can do is attempt to harm her further. She was and is a courageous example of the Tea Party. Did any of you see or hear an evil extremist right-wing nut job wacko? Nope neither did I. The the media in their character assignation didn’t complete the job.
It’s no wonder Obama’s govt targeted to shut the Tea Party down. By using the full slate of American Liberties, average Americans have the ability to destroy socialism.
