Wind or funnels causing power shorts in the lines or actual downed lines
Power multiple power flashes happening Moore...one after the other.
Yeah, looking like this is nothing like Moore. Basically a lot of brief EF-1 spin-ups hitting small areas. For a supposed mile-wide tornado, little damage reports.
I frankly think spotters were just seeing the rain field and overestimating the tornado strength.
By this point, we already knew Moore was bad last week.
Luckily it is now largely passing the metro so the tornadoes will hit lesser populated areas.
Looking at the skies now. Yep, look nasty and ripe for trouble. Thanks for the heads up.
God Bless.
Substations or transformers blowing up.
Thank-you for your help.
God Bless and stay safe.
Flashes from power lines and transformers
Transformers blowing. Noteworthy to track the progress of a suspected tornado on the ground when it’s pitch black and you can’t see the funnel.
I want to complain to FOX about that Drama Queen Shep Smith. He drives me crazy. Surely there is someone else who can be more objective, rather than dramatic. He makes me turn the channel.
Get below!
FNC video showing power flashes....
Watch live on the weather channel much better coverage
I should make clear it is obvious there will be big damage in El Reno.
But, really the St. Louis storm is more scary right now. That has a debris ball....very bad.
No, it is not....not by a long shot.
And power flashes are electric transformers shorting out, happens in every major windstorm.
Pitch black and the sun hasn’t even set yet.
Sheps dramatic...but he’s worse...a controller...can’t stand the guy!
Rick Reichmuth is talking to the storm chaser now and doing a great job getting information.
