Officer Gregory Wester of Readington must be really proud of this. They’ve basically destroyed a man’s life and for what? For exercising his 2nd Amendment rights?
I’m sorry, Gregory Wester has done NOTHING here to “protect and to serve”, unless it is to serve the interests of the leftist “progressives”. Cases such as this are why I have lost my respect for law enforcement. They are becoming arms of oppression instead of protectors of the good citizens of this country.
Take it to the next court!!
Another reason to stay out of the east coast.
Anyone who knowingly lives in a state like that deserves whatever happens to them. There are no fences or walls keeping people in New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Colorado, California and the like. No one is stopping them from moving to Texas or someplace similar.
I remember when this was a free country.
Not so sure about New Jersey, ever.
Anyone else believe that we are becoming two Americas? One that values freedom and one that values government control of everything.
gun case??
weird
Is it me just me, or could the statement above been more carefully worded?
Just think if, instead of a police officer waking Mr. Reininger up in his car at 3:25am, it had been a stoned crook pointing a gun at him, wanting to hijack his car. That's why respectfully I disagree with the judge's statement. Armed crooks are not known for making scheduled hold-ups.
“He was apprehended in Texas and extradited to New Jersey.”
Now that pizzes me off. Of course NJ is a corrupt cesspool of thugs who hate us peons having weapons. But for Texas to extradite him? Grrr...
Today I was at my local airport getting ready to go flying when a man with a pistol on his hip walked by. To me, and everyone else, this was perfectly normal. No police were called. No one died. Just a fellow aviator open carrying and exercising his Second Amendment right. In the People’s Republic of New Jersey, every available police car for 10 miles around would have been rolling, as well as SWAT and the National Guard and the guy would be doing some serious jail time. That’s the difference between living in a free state and a totalitarian state.
America had better wake up and provide an answer to that question, else there will be no more America.
"The Second Amendment does not create 'a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever purpose,'" Judge Ronald B. Graves wrote for the panel. "Furthermore, the Second Amendment does not preclude the state from regulating the manner in which accessories must be transported."
This is fatuous reasoning by a Judge that needs to be impeached.
tax dollars at work...extraditing this guy...Id imagine all this stuff was completely 'legal' in texas, so why the hell would they even hold him in the first place ???
The three-judge appellate panel insisted New Jersey's gun control laws do not violate the constitutional right to keep and bear arms, citing the Supreme Court's recent Heller decision.
gotta love it when the *conservative* jurist writes the open-ended progressive opinion that undercuts the ruling and the 2A...
a legal beagle/eagle needs to force a re-visit to the miller case...in absentia, of course...
“The Second Amendment does not create ‘a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever purpose,’”
Yes it does! These judges are illiterate and criminal.
“The Second Amendment does not create ‘a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever purpose,’” Judge Ronald B. Graves
What part of “shall not be infringed” do you not understand, Graves?
[British accent] “On second thought...Let’s not go to New Jersey...Tis’ a silly place...”
“The Second Amendment does not create ‘a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever purpose,’” Judge Ronald B. Graves wrote for the panel. “Furthermore, the Second Amendment does not preclude the state from regulating the manner in which accessories must be transported.”

Appointed by a republican governor...
Funny how being a republican in one part of the country means something completely different in another...
Hopefully the decision will be appealed in a higher court.
