As counterintuitive as it may sound for an organization with such a wholesome and all-American reputation, it seems that secrecy and heavy-handed tactics are the order of the day at the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) meeting that will decide whether the BSA will change its century-old policy to expand its membership to include open and avowed homosexuals.

NAMBLA Scouts of American. I can already envision their new badge. Any photo shop people out there?

As a scoutmaster, I have been torn on how to handle this change. I think the easy thing to do is to pack it in. Unfortunately, we keep doing that and the left keeps advancing on each surrender.
For me, I will not surrender I will not give in one inch. I will be the stone in the shoe of the homosexuals, I will “do my best” to guide other troop leaders that the values you teach come from you, not from some schmucks in Texas.
“Not in my Troop” will be my new standard. The entire world may crash around me, but there will be young men coming out of my troop that we will all be proud of.
Fundraising will go to the troop and not the scouts, and friends of scouting will get a card from me every march with a rainbow painted on it and a reminder of who to call when they want money.
I think the same thing almost every day. However, I'm also glad I was born in 1950 and experienced the wonder of this once great nation for many years. I'm thankful for that.

My suggestion to all Scout leaders: Form your own club and work toward a new national organization.
“Staunch gay-rights supporters” rising to key leadership positions is a typical Leftist ploy. Remove them from the leadership, vote them out. Why doesn’t Breitbart name them?
I hope you respond by giving them positive and appropriate adult male attention. They need to learn the difference and it helps guide them from confusion to normal masculinity.
Don’t let them. Use the Scouts as an avenue to cure young boys of homosexuality and you’ve completely turned the tables on the Left. Those stating they’re abandoning the Scouts are fools and playing into the hands of the Left.
Now’s the time to redouble your efforts and support Scouting. We need more, good Christian men to come forward and help these young victims. The rise in single motherhood has increased not just material poverty, but spiritual poverty as well and left their children vulnerable to the Devil’s whim.
Don’t shirk and let them win, take it back and let’s us win starting now.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. Stop quitting and letting the left win. They should be the ones starting up their own homosexual scouts. They actually have one. This is a direct assault on the Freedom of Association. Let's not let them keep winning.
It needn't be a one way street to debauchery. This can be undone, just like the delisting of homosexuality as a perversion in the DSM.
I don’t give any of them “appropriate adult male attention.”. My job is to teach them how to survive in the woods. Kids today are really into social drama and I am too autistic to play.
When a kid spends the night in a tent and cooks his own food, positive always happens.

Until then, if all they have to offer me is a world of hurt, I say bring it on. Unlike so many other things in politics, this is one area I have a large amount of direct control. I will not turn tail and run. Evil will not win because ‘this’ good man did nothing.
What you posted makes a lot of sense, but nothing more than this summary statement. I, too, do not believe there are grounds for compromise between the morally straight part of the Scout oath and open advocacy of disgusting, degenerate and dangerous lifestyle.
However, I also understand that there are boys who are genuinely confused thanks to a constant drumbeat and bombardment from popular culture.
This confusion includes not only homosexual inclinations but the even more popular view that sex outside of marriage is perfectly fine. The link I posted leaves no room for compromise in either case.
If troops are free to welcome a boy with either type of confusion but who does not engage in either type of sinful behavior, then I believe that there are grounds for compromise insofar as the potential sinner can be led away from their sin, as opposed to preying adult leadership which would affirm such sin.
Still, I remain highly skeptical that one can be an open homosexual without being a practitioner and, thus, a violator of the morally straight part of the Scout oath.
Nonetheless, if such boys actually exist, then I am far more willing to entrust them to morally straight adult leaders who could turn them on the right path than to throw them to society at large where the odds against it are even longer.
In short, I am willing to fight further to prevent a fine institution from being taken over completely by the homo barbarians than to abandon and surrender the entire tent because the camel has managed to get its nose in.
Not everyone can, or is capable or home schooling. There are still fine public schools in places like Oklahoma and Wyoming who turn out students we can all be proud of.
So it shall be with the BSA . . . and we start with even greater numbers in the rank and file as opposed to the voting majority of the cowardly leadership at the national level.
I'm keeping my kids away from "confused" children.
If they want to minister to seriously disordered people when they are adults, that's their prerogative. Till then, my job is to keep them safe.
It is a constraint on free speech. A person with a state license cannot practice their trade in a manner that they feel appropriate for their clients. They must practice the way the state requires. We are losing our freedoms little by little.

Membership in A new group of scouts “True Scouts of America” as someoen suggested, woudl be just as improtant to these kids once it’s established, up, financed, and goals set etc- only htis new group would stress principles andm orals which the boy scouts of america seems ot have lost- one owudl think that because htey have lost htese ideals, that kids and parents would be looking for osmething more wholesome for hteir kids-

Just as some churches are good at reforming winos and making them into productive members of society, others are inept but perform valuable services in other areas such as mission work.
Likewise, some troops may have the talent pool to help sexually confused young men, but others may not.
If I were running the troop, I would have to agree with you and put the safety of normal boys first.
That being said, however, I do not discount nor demean the success of other people who have demonstrated great success in getting young men off the destructive path of the Sodomites.
