The list of keynote commencement speakers at Ivy League institutions for 2013 does not include a single conservative, a recent study authored by the conservative Young Americas Foundation (YAF) found.
Instead seven of the elite schools opted to invite ideological liberal speakers such as media billionaire Oprah Winfrey, Vice President Joe Biden (D), Newark Mayor Cory Booker (D), Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I), among others.
Only Brown University, which chooses a commencement keynote from among its students, did not have a 2013 speaker who is generally associated with the left.
YAF spokesman Adam Tragone told Campus Reform on Tuesday the list appears to reveal a larger trend of liberal bias occurring on these campuses.
I think it is sort of indicative of the whole way it seems like Ivy Leagues have been treating conservatives as of late, said Tragone. With all these sex talks at Yale, it seems like conservative values on these campuses are non-existent.
Last year, a Campus Reform investigation found that 96 percent of the faculty and staff at Ivy League schools who contributed to the 2012 presidential race donated to President Obamas campaign.

I’m guessing not many Jews were giving commencement speeches at German universities in 1939.

This easily explains why so many graduates from the elite schools imagine that America’s leaders are schizophrenic ~ ‘cause that’s the only ones they hear from!
I can tell you that at my Catholic university, I cannot think of a single conservative invited to speak in the last two years. I got Victor Davis Hanson and Walter Williams here by finegling private grants.
I saw a bumper sticker on a vehicle recently “I (heart) equality.” What made it extra comical was the selection of college decals in the window, too, none of which was an inexpensive option.
Is it my imagination, or did Dr. Ben Carson go into
witness protection. He was all anyone could talk about here
about two months ago, then poof...gone.
I can’t remember when the Ivies had a conservative speak at graduation
Things will make much more sense if you research the Ivy League schools, covering the last century or so.
Founders, funders, endowments. Who were they and what were their purposes.
He who controls the dollars makes the agenda.
The Ivy League schools went off the rails in the 1800’s.
Is there a reason conservatives would want to? I’m having a problem thinking of one.
No news there!!!
Any Ivy League alum FReepers out there? Or are they all in Washington working as Obama appointees?
bingo!
I'd distinguish, though, between people whose whole life is politics and those whose lives not so political at all, like the actor Jerry Adler (of The Sopranos), or people's record is more complicated than that, like Bill Cosby.
Key fact here: Corey Booker is speaking at three colleges this commencement season. Somebody is really promoting him for something.
Justice, I’m a Brunonian. Headed to Providence on FRI for 3 days of campus life.
Applied Math .. Physics and Econ. Econ dept had a solid group of free marketeers and supply-siders in my day.
Bobby Jindal was born in Baton Rouge, La. He earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and public policy at Brown University and a master’s from Oxford University.
The regime frowns upon diversity of thought. Such a thing would be thoughtcrime..
William F. Buckley, Jr. was my commencement speaker, but that was quite a while back, and not an Ivy League school.
