I’m guessing not many Jews were giving commencement speeches at German universities in 1939.
Ollie used to pimp his own blog here until he got tired of being called out for self-promotion and pimping:

This easily explains why so many graduates from the elite schools imagine that America’s leaders are schizophrenic ~ ‘cause that’s the only ones they hear from!
I can tell you that at my Catholic university, I cannot think of a single conservative invited to speak in the last two years. I got Victor Davis Hanson and Walter Williams here by finegling private grants.
I saw a bumper sticker on a vehicle recently “I (heart) equality.” What made it extra comical was the selection of college decals in the window, too, none of which was an inexpensive option.
Is it my imagination, or did Dr. Ben Carson go into
witness protection. He was all anyone could talk about here
about two months ago, then poof...gone.
I can’t remember when the Ivies had a conservative speak at graduation
Things will make much more sense if you research the Ivy League schools, covering the last century or so.
Founders, funders, endowments. Who were they and what were their purposes.
He who controls the dollars makes the agenda.
The Ivy League schools went off the rails in the 1800’s.
Is there a reason conservatives would want to? I’m having a problem thinking of one.
No news there!!!
Any Ivy League alum FReepers out there? Or are they all in Washington working as Obama appointees?
I'd distinguish, though, between people whose whole life is politics and those whose lives not so political at all, like the actor Jerry Adler (of The Sopranos), or people's record is more complicated than that, like Bill Cosby.
Key fact here: Corey Booker is speaking at three colleges this commencement season. Somebody is really promoting him for something.
William F. Buckley, Jr. was my commencement speaker, but that was quite a while back, and not an Ivy League school.
